If the U beats ND and Oklahoma beats TCU

It's going to be tough to keep them both out the top 4. Do they both jump us and leave the Tigers at 5 ? I know if we win out we are in but beating a 3-5 FSU team is not going to look that great this weekend.

We (Clemson) need the "U" to beat Norte Dame, Auburn to beat them Dawgs and for TCU to beat Baker Mayfield this weekend.

Tigers and should keep us on top of Okies, especially considering their past history against us.

if your scenario happens..................

i have no problem with oklahoma jumping us. that would give them 3 wins vs top 25, like us, but their wins would most likely be better. i think the auburn-uga game comes into play because auburn is our best win and if they win, they would stay in the top 10. i dont think miami should jump us because they would have two wins over top 25 teams and as i said earlier, we have 3. even if oklahoma jumps us i think we still control our own destiny because we will play miami in the acc title game.

What would your assessment be if we had victories over 4 top 25 teams?

I have no idea how the POC would deal with those events.

If we're going to wonder about how that affects Clemson we may want to look at Clemson instead of the rankings. If we get dropped a couple spots in the ranking our coaches and players will finally take off the gloves and play like champions.
I didn't want to see us ranked so highly when the POC released their rankings. I wanted to be at or outside the top ten. We can work when we're disrespected, undervalued and the underdog.

Agreed, but they also have the best offense in CFB

and the best QB in college football who's also currently the Heisman front runner. And before the Baker Mayfield hate begins, yes he's the best QB in CFB this year.

Here are a couple of sources

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaaoff
https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/feioff
Those numbers adjust for opponents, so the bad Big XII defenses are already factored in. Also note that OU has a pretty sizeable lead in the S&P+ numbers and a massive lead in the efficiency (FEI) ratings. If it were closer you could make a better argument against OU, but the fact they are that far ahead of everyone else is pretty telling.

And I get the feeling the committee is not in love with the Truculent Leprechauns not competing in a conference championship game.

Yeah, i think OK jumps us with a win against TCU

ND would obviously stay ahead of us if they beat Miami on the road, and i wouldn't be surprised if Miami jumped us into the top 4 with a win. Miami is undefeated and the knock on them was really just the weak schedule. They beat VT convincingly last Saturday and if they add a big win over #3 Notre Dame i don't see how the resume could be questioned any longer.
Teams I'm really pulling for this weekend (aside from Clemson):
Auburn - for our SoS and to put UGA in a position where they could be eliminated with a loss in the SECCG
Iowa - could quite possibly eliminate Wisconsin
Miss St - a man can dream, right?
Miami - would likely eliminate ND
TCU (this one doesn't matter quite as much, but i think TCU has a weaker resume overall since OK has the road win over Ohio State)

Some are dicey at best but it looks like you're pulling for the dogs in every game.

Auburn is +2 against UGA and Miami is +3 against ND. Both are home dogs. Neither one of those teams winning would be really surprising.

I want to see ND and UGA lose for sure. Is Bama really that good I think so they just don't show many weaknesses. They have not played anybody but you can see that it doesn't really matter . If they finish undefeated through the SECCG it's going to be real hard to beat them.

A U victory means a top 5 ACCCG so a win there and its a mute point where team is at in the polls

I think it plays out like this:
Auburn beats Ga
Miami beats ND
Okla. beats TCU
Next week CFP:
1. Alabama 2. Clemson 3. Okla. 4. Miami
