They only took 2 last year, but both were studs.
Now they just added a former 5 star CB from LSU.
I’m telling you…the portal is where the rich will get richer. I thought it was gonna greatly benefit Clemson, but our stock is dropping. We are not the cool kids right now.

How is this even tampering and why are you even mad at this? Before the portal players that were transferring usually already contacted the other team anyway. It was normal and happened all the time.

And why isn’t Clemson doing the same? College football is big business and Clemson should be doing whatever it takes to evolve with CFB.
Contrary to popular belief, there are some great players in the portal. Just ask Bama who’s portal WR won SEC player of the year.

You nailed it! It’s all about the money. NIL and the TP will be the downfall of college football that most of us enjoy. Saban would do business with the Devil if it wins him games. IMO he is overrated as a HC!
There is something fishy about the Clemson commit changing his mind days before signing day.
I hope I am around to see karma comeback around to some of these programs like Bama, SC, Michigan, OSU, UGA and other schools who are willing to bend or break the rules.
Darker days are ahead for college football!

According to Lane Kiffin, who ain't lying I dont think... If you don't like Bama working the portal, then you need to open up your checkbook. Start writing some checks. This is the new era of CFB and that's what it seems to take. I mean look at Texas and Quinn Sewers. I'm not going to complain bc i'm not going to write a $50k check to a 5star transfer. Kids probably looking for another $50k check in the summer. Maybe another in the fall. Maybe more all up front. Who knows...
It'll be interesting to start hearing some numbers once that info starts leaking out into the public. And make sure to thank far leftoid Califailia for this mess. They started it. Then everyone else rushed to not get left behind.

State of California was looking for more tax revenue, so they found a way for 'amateur' college athletes to make big bucks. The fact that CA has so many deep pocketed donors to assist in recruiting is icing on the cupcakes.
And so the multi-tiered 'parity' of college football is destroyed in favor of the oldest corrupting influence in the history of the world: guaranteed cash.

California said players should be able to make money off their NIL. They left it to the NCAA to make the rules and regulate it. They went to congress in 2020 to form a federal NIL law so everyone was on an even playing field and it was regulated. Congress said no. Do you people even do your own research or just blame California and liberals. People like you are the reason why this school is going to fall far behind everyone else. Just old people yelling at clouds without adapting.

I'll grant you this much: the state of FL was following close on CA's heels (not for state tax revenue because FL has no state income tax) because the first state to enact NIL legislation would gain a major recruitment advantage.
If you want to say that CA tabled their NIL proposal for one legislative session so the NCAA could get ahead of them, I'll agree with you. But if you are going to pretend that CA was somehow being altruistic, you're a da#$ liar. CA was going to destroy the amateur status of college athletes come hel/ or high water.
In spite of their athletic programs' past successes and historic traditions, the population of the state of CA cares very little about college athletics in relation to other concerns. Their game attendance and spending per capita is one of the lowest in the nation. But their politicians do understand how to mine any industry to increase revenue--because they plan on taxing it, and then turning around and buying votes with it.
You can accuse other people of yapping at the moon from 3000 miles away all you want,, but you're the one talking about a generalized "they". I talk regularly to my FiL about this stuff. Do you know where Fremont is? It's in CALIFORNIA. Across the bay from SF.
According to him,, most Californians haven't even heard of NIL, and the college sports scene is wayyyyyyyyyy down their list of things they are interested in.

I am still in, but keeping my eye on it and willing to give up college football if the NIL is a factor. I wont watch if it is. The fans should break them if it becomes one. Total boycott fir years. JMO
