I played saxophone professionally a long time ago and learned a lot from King Curtis, but I've always admired Candy Dulfer. She's terrific:

Nice. How many years did you put in to reach professional level?

Did you play alto, tenor, soprano or more than one?

Which was your favorite?

Started with piano for a few years of classical lessons, switched with clarinet in grade school, switched to tenor sax in Jr High, won 1st chair State of SC as a HS sophomore, played in combo bands and HS concert band as a HS freshman and sophomore, played claranet, alsto soprano, tenor, baritone and once even a sarousaphone (contra bass sax).

At Clemson was in Phi Kapps (vocal group), Jungaleers (swing band), concert band and formed a folk group which performed at foorball half-time when I was a freshman.

Was a member of the Clemson Caravelles. From there I graduated to the road life for a time.

So, from the time I began with piano lessons to the time I was playing full-time was about 12 years.

My favorite horn was definitely a tenor saxophone - I was convinced to try it after the first time I heard the Coasters play "Yakety Yak"!

It's fun for a while, but it's not a very good life for most folks.

This is really impressive.

I played alto saxophone in the school band from sixth grade through twelfth grade, and then in my church orchestra during my college years.

Oh yeah, love it. She's great... kinda easy on the eyes, too.
