What about Zac Brooks?

A lot of RB talk on the boards lately and not much mention of Brooks. While he's not an electric guy, i think he could be a big bruising back. He has good hands out of the backfield too.

I loved the wheel route TD in the earlier part of the season. I think it was against UGA. It was similar to Jamie Harper's TD against Auburn.

Back injuries are scary business. Hope he can fully.....

recover as he is the type back we need. Wouldn't surprise me if that type injury doesn't continuously impact him and/or end his career early.

The shoulder and ball security probably overlap. And he's not a bruiser but is a very physical runner. Hopefully, he can improve and gain some weight during the offseason because we have some bruisers ready to go. His ability to catch the ball makes him an asset.
I like Brooks but the competition at RB means the guy that wins the spot will be playing at a high level. I'm hoping Dye will emerge. Brooks will get his snaps though.

Brooks isn't a bruising back?

I guess I'm just comparing him to the other backs from last year. Compared to McDowell, Davidson, and Howard he was the pretty big. He's definitely no Gurley though who definitely qualifies as a bruising back.

And the same weight as hot rod. Brooks should probably be the 3rd down back.

He is an electric guy, he just needs more touches...

unfortunately this past season our Oline underperformed, so he got less opportunities to go along with his injury at the end of season. He can make big plays running and catching the ball.

Hes going help the Tigers, no doubt. Like you said, good hands, and runs very hard. Especially in short yardage.
Featured back? Maybe not... But hes going be a factor.

I'm excited about Gallman as well

everything I have read about him describes him as a "violent" runner, and he apparently has very good speed and the frame to carry 215-220 pounds. Don't be surprised if he ends up being a star as well.
Basically, we are in very good shape at RB. We have no proven stars (though I think many of the guys will be), which should fuel some additional competition. And we can realistically have a 4-5 RB rotation where our guys are still fresh in the 4th quarter.... what a good situation to be in.

I think he may be a better WR than RB at this point.
He is a fumble waiting to happen and the coaches do not trust him.

Seems like Davidson is speedier and Brooks

may have to compete with him and the RS guys - Gallman and Dye - for much time in bigger games. I wouldn't think we'd see much of Howard, either.
Brooks and Davidson strike me as more first down runners and the stronger backs (G & D) as the ones you go to on 3rd when you gotta have it. Of course, it all depends on how they all come out of spring and fall practices.
