Should Nikki drop out of the race and take the VP spot?

Or stay in the race and force Trump to make mistakes and spend lots of money to defend himself against her attacks while she softens him up for Biden?

No way she would take the VP spot, nor would it ever be offered.

Nobody that was in that administration before wants back in, and she has nothing to lose by riding this out to the convention.

opportunity to become Vice President knowing that, win or lose, Trump can't or won't run again. She could reconnect with the base of the GOP who obviously worships the ground Trump walks on and be well positioned for 2028.

Trump is as thin skinned as they come. He’ll never forget Nikki not bowing the knee. There’s no way he’ll offer her the VP spot.
Also, Trump will probably lose, so she’s much better positioned for 2028 to not accept the VP spot on the off chance that Trump were to offer it.
Really nice gracious winner speech from Trump. So classy.
He will take the GOP over the cliff. Dems will control Congress and retain the WH.

voters who would be inclined to vote for the Republican candidate if it were someone other than Trump, of which there are many. She's raised and spent a lot of money promoting herself and she's campaign and debate hardened.
She might put him over the top.

once displayed. He couldn't even give up Twitter to save his 2020 campaign. I don't think he's going to eat the crap sandwich that would be required of him to come around on Haley enough to give her the VP slot. I give you that she may be more inclined to take it than I think she is, but I don't see Trump having the rational capability to see that she's his only hope.

He is his own worst enemy. He had an opportunity tonight to leave a better impression with moderates and suburban voters. He won tonight by a comfortable margin in a state favorable to Haley.
Instead of congratulating Haley on her efforts, thanking his voters and focusing on Biden, as usual he went off the rails and acted like a 6th grader belittling Haley's dress and going on and on in a rambling undisciplined speech complete with uttering bu**s**t.
Haley could potentially help him if he would just shut up for once and act like an adult, but there's no way Trump will do what is smart. He's incapable of helping himself.

I don't believe Trump could count on Nikki to do his anti-constitutional bidding, as Pence failed to do in a crunch. If he's branching out and going for a female balance for TV impressions, who is also full-on Banana Republican, it will be Stefanik.

But the reality is Biden is not nearly bad enough to motivate independents/moderates to either show up, or vote for Trump instead. And, Trump himself is worse, not better, in appeal to these voters. So in November, you'll have a Democrat base fired-up to keep Trump out of the White House, and a GOP base that is both unmotivated to show up (or, like Kiwi, convinced that showing up is pointless because it is rigged). And, the moderates who do show up are either not going to vote at the top of the ticket, or will vote for Biden instead. So, who does the GOP/Trump think is going to push him over the edge?
Not moderate Democrats. Not Independents. Not moderate Republicans. Not the people Trump lost in 2020.
The only people there for Trump are those left of who was there for him in 2020, and even then that wasn't enough to get him re-election.
This could very well be a bloodbath for Trump, and the unfortunate Republicans down ballot from him.

GOP over the cliff. Well, already has but they don't know it. They just like that he is willing to say mean things about brown people, think he is good at business because they have never done a project with him that requires him to pay, and I don't know what else all.
Maybe they really like that thing where the standard tax deduction went up, I know they are confused about gas prices during the 2020 election.
I think he wins the election going away because conservatives go out and vote, while the liberal folks seem to get lost some place.

Agree. She hurts herself going forward to stay in. She will not win the nomination. If she’s smart, she should give it a few days and bail.
Bailing sooner than when forced out will serve her better going forward.

She's almost certainly waiting to see if the Supreme Court kicks Trump out of the race.
I would too. If they do, she's the last one standing.
I think the odds are better than 50/50 they kick him off.

I don't believe that Nikki will hurt herself long term staying in and at least going the distance here in SC. She will be displaying the fight that many Magats crave in a candidate, yet with actual coherence, competence, and policy behind what they're actually seeking. Though much of SC is deep into the kool aid and accordingly obedient to their master's wishes, there's still that SC backbone and independent roots that she can draw out of some of that flock.
Besides, Magats being the shape shifting reactionaries they are, with an ability to discount their own eyes and ears for what Daddy tells them they saw and heard instead, when he's no longer viable after this election and on the scene they won't have a similar guiding beacon filling their minds 24/7 with grievances and victimhoods. There just isn't another sociopath out there in the GOP today, with a pathological obsession for attention, that can come close to filling that bill. So they'll just likely forget.
