Normally I build a PC from scratch and in that process I can tell Microsoft to #### off. I can opt not to do all the crap they want me doing as I go along so they can market my ### to the moon and back. However, I was confronted with needing to buy a new laptop. NP. Bought it. Love the laptop so far. It's fast, works great.

BUT.....it came with Windows 11 pre-installed and I'm having to forcibly UNPROGRAM Microsoft from the thing. First off it came with one drive. My mom uses that and I keep it OFF MY PC. She needs it, I don't. So I disconnected One Drive, AND uninstalled it. Easy. When I first booted it asked me if I wanted to import all of my old files (MOM's PC) and I said NO, and opted to setup this laptop as a NEW PC. Well, Microsoft chose to ignore that. They forced me to log into Microsoft, which I never do as well, so One Drive starts deleting crap from Mom's PC. I stopped it asap. Logged out and logged in as a local account, THE WAY I LIKE IT.

NOPE. All the Office 365 stuff and all personal folders were located in the One Drive folder. My Docs, Email, etc.

Then I had to hunt around and find the way to make outlook readable and functional, as they default layout sux. And next I will have to hack the registry for a 5th time to bring back the old right click menu as I have to click MORE OPTIONS to simply copy and paste something.
