English Class, we were taught that only the words inside the quotation marks are the actual quote. This guy is attempting to fool us into believing that the quote was "We have two years to save the world", when it was not, the later goes on to give an opinion based on a misquote. Fortunately, you are a smart, educated person and caught onto that.

Maybe …

If you’re correct (you may well be as far as your implied assertion), then the article’s author was especially crafty in splicing quotes to make his argument that the UN climate guru seem to reflect that which the author had concluded.

In other words, the article’s author did a very good job at twisting the UN climate guru’s various statements into a conclusion that was not what the UN guy had intended.

Selected quotes, in sequence:

“We still have a chance to make greenhouse gas emissions tumble, with a new generation of national climate plans. But we need these stronger plans, now,” Stiell said in a speech at the Chatham House think tank in London.

“Who exactly has two years to save the world? The answer is every person on this planet,” Stiell said. “More and more people want climate action right across societies and political spectrums, in large part because they are feeling the impacts of the climate crisis in their everyday lives and their household budgets.”

This one quacks like a duck and looks like a duck …

Climate cultists have been assuring us are only a few years from extinction since at least the 90s. You really think they are gonna mind being off by a mere two years when things are basically unchanged in 2026? What about them exactly makes you think they have the capacity for self reflection or independent thought?

What I care about is if $1 today will be worth somewhere near $1 in 10 years or worth $0.0000001.
