Tell you right now, he did not take a paycut.. at least not a big one... Allen HS stadium has 18,000 seats and is the 5th largest in texas... and they don't share it with any other school...

Don’t be silly.....this is public information because they’re state employee. 158.5K per year. Sure, there are some perks, but that’s true anywhere.

I bet he wishes that he would have stayed at Clemson, and learned all the in's and out's of college FB before he started taking every interview he could to become a college HC. The Chad tried to walk before he ever learned to crawl at the college level, and it bit him square in the A$$!!!!

Haha I forgot about that one. He's a doofus in my opinion. Imagine your head coach coming in and saying that on the first day and trying to get on board with everything.

I really hate he didnt get more time at Arkansas. I get it was bad but he was only there like 18 months. He was taking Bret Bielema's scheme of like 100 full backs and trying to convert it to the spread. That was at least a 3 year job to see any results at all. I hope he does well at whatever he does.... he definitely helped us get the ball rolling here.

Allen is not a High School in the way that most people think of High Schools. They have more than 5000 students. Their stadium holds 18,000 and cost 60 million to build. They have 5, 6A State Football Championships in the last 10 years. I think Kyler Murray is their recent famous alum. Yes it’s High School football, but it’s big time Texas High School football.

I appreciate what Coach Morris did at Clemson. He tried to move on too quickly at SMU just when he was establishing that program.

Brent Venables has forgotten more about college FB than Chad ever gave himself a chance to learn. Chad actually thought that he was going to coach a college team that he could beat Dabo with, and it was bc he thought he was a better coach than Dabo, or else he would have stayed at Clemson to learn more about the college level FB. Chad had to learned what HS kids coming into college FB has to learn, and that is, it's not the same playing it, and it's not the same with how it's coached, and he had to take his HS coaching ways back to the HS game!!!!

??????????????????
Yo, this perspective is WACK.
Everyone has a different journey. Some people are fine where they are and some folks move along to different destinations.
I don't see where the distaste for Morris comes from. Comparing him and Coach V is not remotely close.
Morris helped us bring in DW4 so I'm grateful for that. He never seemed like a long term coordinator as he was set on becoming a head coach from the moment he got here.
Coach V has been a coordinator since the 90s. Before Clemson he was at Oklahoma for most of his career and has stated multiple times it would take a unique scenario for him to want to take a head coaching gig.
Overall, I love Clemson as much as the next person but this "we are the one and only and to leave us is to hope you fail at life" complex is ridiculous I see amongst the fans

I don’t mind that he left Clemson. What I mind is a coach gets an opportunity to be a head coach and then jumps ship again to an unrealistic expectations college in Arkansas. Yes I understand coaches can be fired at the snap of a finger but there was progress being made at SMU. He recruited kids to go there and play for him. Why not spend a little time in one place where you’re making progress instead of going to a bottom dweller in the SEC.

Ultimately comes down to the person IMO.
I definitely get the mindset of growing where you are planted but if an opportunity comes along that presents a challenge you wanna take on then I can't blame a person for going after it.
Maybe he thought he could turnaround the culture and turn Arkansas into a winner. It's a tough gig considering it's in the SEC West but you are near the recruiting hot beds of Texas and Louisiana. No shame in the idea since he did have ins with plenty of Texas high schools.
Heck, IRL it happens all the time with jobs. Sometimes it looks great on paper, the interview goes well, and you've got plenty of $$$ being thrown at you to join...only to find out later it's not as good as a fit as you thought it was beforehand.
Live and learn ??

I would feel for him, but the 2011, 2012 and 2013 loses to SCar were his fault with ##### play calling that still haunts me to this day.

I wondered if anyone else felt that way. Nothing against him at all as a person but when it came to play calling, it was mostly unimaginative and fairly predictable. "Same play using multiple formations and motion" How many times did we run the same play??..multiple formations help?-nope!
Same type of thing happened to Malzahan where it looked like he'd run out of material. He and Morris came from high school to college the same year
I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in college ball again. Perhaps what he brought to Clemson(which ran it's course)was creativity he developed in the High School ranks. Sounds like his interview was a recording of Dabo. However, you have to respect someone who, instead of buying a nice boat and go fishing(probably had one), takes a role that most would find embarrassing. He doesn't have to work. He wants to work which says a lot for the man on that premise alone.

When it comes to high school football, Allen is a different breed of cat even by Texas standards.
This is really unfair (I mean that sincerely). Even more great youngsters will stampede there.

If I was to judge, I would have said stay at SMU a few years and get more experience. He was rocking it there and could have won conference championships and picked a better school.
However, he was great at Clemson. We sucked on offense before he arrived and he helped us evolve and attract better recruits.
Financially, he's set and is still getting paid millions by Arkansas (and I don't believe his $100k salary from Allen High School will offset the money owed by ARKY).
Good move at the moment. Go reset your life. Love your wife. Spend time seeing family. Get physically fit.

This is not that unusual. Former Clemson assistant and Baylor head coach, Chuck Reedy and became a highly successful high school coach at Goose Creek in South Carolina.

Reedy is a terrible human being and a liar. He followed Grant Teaff at Baylor and kept up with the lies and the negative recruiting against other in state schools in Texas.

He went from head coach in the SEC, to assistant coach in the SEC, to high school coach.
It wasn't long ago that he was the trendy pick for young up and coming college football coach. He's in a very unforgiving profession, but he knows that.
I appreciate what he brought to Clemson, at a time when we lacked toughness and an offensive identity. He left Clemson better than he found it, and for that I am thankful.
I wish him all the best.

Also, Scelliot learned not to abandon the run so friggin early in games. To me, that was the most rage-inducing tendency the Chad had with us.

Glad he’s at Allen. Allen is in the league with our High School, can’t wait to watch them play under his system. They beat us in the last minute last year. They have top talent every year. I bet he’s relieved, he will love it here.
