Isn't Iowa the school where the fans turn and wave to the children at the Children's Hospital next to the stadium after the first quarter? If so, I think that is the most heart warming, great experience I can imagine. I find it hard to believe this fan was so taken by a Gamecock game after experiencing something like that!

That’s what I was thinking until the comment where he said he wishes he could have been there in 2002. At that point I knew he was a coot.

There is an unwritten rule that when one goes on the board of another school, the first thing is to issue unlimited platitudes, whether warranted or not. That gets the audience so enthralled that any comments after that will not appear as an insult. And when your audience is gullible, the task is so much easier.
The Iowa visitor should be invited to attend a Clemson home game. If his comments are, indeed, a true assessment, he has probably endured some negative experiences at the other venues he has visited.

I've been to Iowa, USC and Clemson. If you eliminate the rivalry aspect and the importance of the game ie conference title or highly ranked opponent and judge solely on spectacle of experience Clemson is the best. Unless you enjoy drinking lots of coffee spiked with schnapps to take the edge off the 10° weather then Iowa is your bag.

I went to a game in Madison one year...a stuffy nose was impossible to have...the stands were filled with the waft of peppermint schnapps! Unreal...LOL! And the Badger band...they were the real reason folks were there...football was the preliminary!
