We played Loyola Chicago in the Holiday Hoopsgiving tournament at State Farm Arena. Despite being located over 700 miles and an 11 hour drive from Atlanta, Loyola had a bunch of fans as well as their pep band in attendance.
Clemson, despite being a little over 100 miles and a 2 hour drive from Atlanta, had far fewer fans in attendance. We didn't even bring our pep band.
When I pointed out how embarrassing this is for a larger school, playing a couple of hours from home, in a city with many Clemson alumni, to have far inferior support compared to a school like Loyola located far away, the derp squad here turned it into me blaming our loss on not having our pep band there.
Fans who want the best for our basketball program would have felt awful that our basketball team had such pathetic support for a game not far from campus, to the point that it felt like a road game at Loyola Chicago. But not our great basketball fans on TNet. No, they think that we have great fan support and have no problem with any of it.

It hilarious that you're still on this. Btw - Loyola Chicago ran a fundraiser to get their team to Atlanta to take on the Clemson Tigers. Based on your claims that our basketball program is so maligned, I was surprised to see the enthusiasm they had for "this great opportunity for the Ramblers on a national stage".

I don't remember you leading a fundraiser to get our Pep Bands to any potential unscheduled events. If it is the priority you continue to claim that it is, I (or any number of other TNet users) could arrange a meeting for you with Dr. Spede. I'm sure he would love to have you bring in any additional funding for his programs.

I was at the South Carolina and Virginia basketball games this season. I was at the baseball game this Saturday. And while I wasn't a member of Tiger Band, I feel like you're insinuating there would be something negative about that. You continue to amaze with your hypocrisy about what is and isn't okay to say negative about Clemson.

that loss had nothing to do with any of the things you mentioned.
Clemson lost because they couldn't defend Philip Alston or Braden Norris for Loyola of Chicago and because the Tigers shot 39% (21 of 54) from the field and a paltry 3 of 21 from 3-point range. Add in two long scoring droughts (one in each half), and that is why Loyola cruised to a 76-58 victory.

Our home and away records identical. Home advantage averages around 3 points and is well studied. A majority of that advantage has more to do with the comfort factor and familiarity with playing at home. The effect of a home crowd on a visiting team is extremely overrated.

to go out and hire a better coach who can and will move this program forward, I'll start buying tickets and attending again. After 14 seasons, we know exactly what we're going to get from CBB which is largely mediocrity and inconsistency. Clemson deserves better.
