Depending on how many charging stations and size the capital after overhead after any jump in any bills from corporations always affect a paycheck. You might not be paying at moment but you will eventually pay.
Also a 1400lb car with 1800lbs of batteries requires massive amounts of nuclear waste (that us niw being stored in sc), exhorbent amount if heavy metals and poisonous properties to be distributed to earth one day, depending in where the vehicle us charged in sc the amount of coal burnt to produce the 130 miles to 150 the vehicle averages brings massive pollution to the earth.
Def could go on with the horrible effects electric vehicles bring on this earth but maybe its a good step?? I believe hydrogen or harnessing of magnetic energy will ultimately be the solution.

Said with compassion to our beautiful earth.
But boy howdy those electric motors pull out fast!!!

I work in Corp finance for said company so I could tell you how much the chargers costs and how theyre funded. However I shan't; just know it ain't me paying for it. The less than $50
a day in electricity all our chargers combined cost our $100B company doesn't even have a line.

I'm in NC and over 70% of my electricity comes from renewable resources(there's an app for that). However I didn't buy the car cause I'm trying to save the world; I bought it cause it goes 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and EVs are just better.

Literally have no issue with evs. They have come a long way since the prius being sold 4yrs old for 2k! All it needed was 15k in batteries! Lol.
They have gotten so much better! Porsche Tycan not Tuscan. That thing is raw!

No problem; it's a sheet ton of fun to drive. However, I did have to adjust my tire budget; a 4500 lbs vehicle that can accelerate like a roller coaster chews up some rubber. Clearly it's not my fault I was born with an abnormally heavy right foot.

you will have a car payment the rest of your life, at least if you are smart. You have to get rid of an EV before those $$$$$$ battery packs need replacement. To me, that is the main factor holding back EVs. The batteries also figure in one other thing that holds them back, which is range. Most top out at 300 miles. I did read something recently about some super duper new batteries being developed using carbon graphite as a substrate instead of silicon, supposed to give a huge increase in storage capacity. So, that part may be close to being solved.

My vehicle does have an 8 year 120K mile warranty for the batteries so that does give some protection against getting screwed. The great thing is how much R&D is going on right now with battery tech. I'm confident that in a few years we'll have overcome most of the range and longevity concerns. When battery tech leaps forward I really don't think you'll see the 500 mile range that Toyota is touting I think it will be more about charging speed. If you can one day charge an EV in the same time as it rakes to pump gas why would you need more than 300 miles of range? A vehicle that weighs 30% less has 300 miles range and charges in 5 minutes would be hard to beat. You can still configure a vehicle for super range, but for most people's every day driver lighter more efficient is the sweet spot.

And now “immersion cooled” don’t even know what that means. The newest Tesla supercharger can supply 115 miles of range in 5 minutes; so already almost half way there to compete with gas vehicles in refueling speed. Another important point is that these are DC chargers not AC which has a lot of benefits with speed and efficiency. Here’s a video that shows the size of the cable; although you may be too distracted to actually look at the charger
