Is like Groundhog Day.....over and over and over. ACC was down this year, and we still can't get over the hump.

Yes, I know how many times I dreamed we’d have the team that could be good enough to make it a few games in a tournament that mattered.
We need to reevaluate. This is why so many want change because we aren’t coots and we shouldn’t settle for less in any sport.

But... But.. we finished 3rd in the ACC and had the most wins ever!! (Not even close to our best winning percentage) and we can't expect to compete with UVA when they had 800 more fans there!!
We obviously would have won with a few more million dollars plugged in and less lazy people deciding to stay home

We will always suck at Bskt.Ball. The ACC was a BB conference and we were a FB program. The rest of the conference(early years) focused on BB and had some great teams, players and coaches. Not so now, and we still can't compete successfully, due mainly to coaching. We have never had a great coach or great players. You don't win w/o both.
I don't think we will ever be more than mediocre. Brownell may be about all the coaching talent we will ever get. It is what it is. I don't follow Clemson BB anymore. Followed it for years, and for years was disappointed. As a student, I never missed a home game and sat behind the Clemson bench for every game. Personally knew every player. 1961-65.

The Clemson attitude of accepting mediocrity by the AD admin., BOD, and fans.
The entire state of NC and the tobacco road BIG 4 schools, eat, sleep and live college BB. It ruled the ACC roost for decades and was televised way more than ACC FB. All due to ACC Basketball. Clemson was an on looker. We focused on FB, thank goodness. I will still take FB over Bskt. ball any day of the week.

himself in the annals of Clemson athletics history. Basketball is the one nut we've never quite been able to crack. Were he to bring in the right leadership that turned our fortunes around there, he could be legendary. He doesn't have that opportunity anywhere else, really - it's all maintenance and sustaining mostly with football, soccer, golf, baseball, now softball and more. Basketball has been the outlier, and for as prominent as it is and the role it plays for everyone as a revenue sport, it's going to get the attention it deserves.
