Unbelievable that you can have an overall record of winning 4 out of 7 games and get paid $2M to $3M a year.

I think people are over exaggerating this extension. It is no more money and the buyout is somewhat less than before.
This was to attract recruits to help boost offical visits this weekend right when practice starts. One is a consensus top 75 player who really blew up this past summer during the evaluation period, and the other one is a solid 3 star big guard from Dallas TX who got a lot of high major looks. They get both of these guys after the weekend to add to the other commit who is a top 150-200 player. ESPN has him as a 4 star, then they are having one of his better recruiting efforts. This would mean the strategy paid off.

If you want to be against it fine but dont state some made up full of bull statistic. He is Clemson: 201–150 (.573) overall and 95–99 (.490) in the ACC. Probably the best acc percentage of any Clemson coach. Maybe if 1-10 of the football fans would go to LJ for games he could do even better. I'm tired of people carping like we were NC and he's holding us back when he has done more with a cellar dweller fans support program tjan any prior Clemson coach..

Regarding “…. citing some full of bull statistic…”, is not a record of 201 wins with 150 losses winning 4 out of 7 games?
Blame the fans for not coming to games. Blame the record on the league we play in. Whatever you think is fine with me.
But earning millions for mediocrity?

Way back in the eighties the coliseum was standing room only for big games. Didn't win all of 'em but it was competitive and there was a good chance to win. Barnes filled the seats being competitive. Purnell filled the seats when he was competitive.
It has been proven many times thru the years in Clemson if you win or even it is believed you may win they will come. Can't blame fans not making hour plus drive many have to make to fill the seats when you are less than .500 ball.

The pumpers narrative is bogus

A couple of people out there (we all know who they ar) - pump BB as “the best Clemson coach ever”. Citing ACC winning percentages, Dance wins, etc. What is wrong with hose arguments? 1. When you coach longer, you get more wins, even if your percentage is not better. 2. The ACC is and has been watered down and poor compar

Not sure why it posted before I finished. 2. The ACC is not what it once was. Finishing .500 against the talent in the ACC was a good season against Maryland, nc state, Wake, GT, not to mention UnC, Duke. The 70s and 80s were so much more difficult. 3. Counting play-in ncaa game victory as a “dance win” is a bit misleading. Barely getting in and then beating another high seed is not the same as a a 12 beating a 4.
The mantra is always the same and yet, in a dozen years, what has changed? I would rate Bill Foster and Cliff Ellis and what they did, against who they did it against, all day.
JMO anyway.
