What this has me thinking is, does this mean there will only be maybe 1 ACC team making it to the NCAA tournament. If Clemson is still on the outside looking in, that has to mean that every ACC team that Clemson has beat, is doing the same thing, looking in over the shoulder of Clemson's Basketball team.
If that is what it should mean, about every ACC basketball team is just looking in with a ways to go before getting that call from the NCAA with a tournament invite, am I assuming right???

What makes this transitive approach fail is our losses to insanely bad teams like the coots and Loyola Chicago. If ACC teams that we beat don’t have such atrocious losses on their record, their body of work will be viewed as superior to ours.

I believe their bracketology is based on how they think the selection committee is going to select / seed the thing not how they think it should be. I could be wrong on that though.

Unfortunately a top 4 ACC finish doesn't guarantee an at-large berth... ND finished 15-5 and 2nd a year ago and barely snuck in, playing in the First Four.
3-2 and 1 win in Greensboro puts us squarely on the bubble, with the best case scenario likely being a trip to Dayton for the First Four.
4-1 and 1 win in Greensboro likely makes us a lock barring any other significant runs to close the season by other bubble teams.

I'm still optimistic the ACC gets at least 4 teams into the tournament. And I would not be surprised to see UNC make a big run at the end if the year to sneak in - perhaps by winning ACC tournament. Caleb Love looked unstoppable against us, much like he did in the tournament last year.
