Kelly Bryant

I remember when he 1st committed and I heard bunch of people this kid is "way better than Watson"....did I miss something?
1. Watson is in a league of his own right now! There's not another quarterback I'd rather have especially with the game on the line in the 4th 2. From what I hear Cooper is going to win the job 3. I seen where people saying he needs to switch positions but we already too deep at WR so he wouldn't get to play much at that either
Don't get me wrong I like Kelly Bryant I met him couple times super nice kid you can tell he loves the game and he's shown great ability to run the ball, not so sure about passing but that's mainly Cuz he's only played in garbage time pretty much where they were trying to run clock out

that Bryant was better than Watson or would be better. Before Watson even stepped foot on campus w knew Watson would be the best of all time at Clemson. Bryant was never considered anything like that.

There is no doubt he will get his chance......

But Hunter Johnson and Chase Brice will get their chance as well.
And one of the 3 better dang well separate themselves from the pack cause Trevor Lawrence is coming in a hurry.
Great position to be in. Good to be a Tiger.......

I'll just say it here....
Bryant will be the starter coming out of spring. I think he has been held back as they rarely let him throw or play with the first team OL or backs and receivers. It's always been garbage cause of course, DW never got hurt. It will be a battle for sure among the four quarterbacks. I'm as anxious to see who emerges at running back. Feaster, Fuller, Choice and Dye. That's NOT a deep stable and they need to take the next step.

meaningful snaps Bryant was able to take this year. The fact that Bryant wasn't the first one off the bench may be an indicator of the coaching staff's confidence in him. I'd be happy if your prediction is correct and that Bryant is able to step up and show that he's the best we've got. I like the way he runs.

I have never been in the Kelly Bryant camp, even as far back as watching him the Shrine Bowl while in HS. He was lost in that game, and I have not seen anything to date to change my mind.
Yes - he runs great, but when he comes into the game, I think we instantly become one-dimensional and easier to defend. He has to become proficient at passing, and I mean extremely improve at his passing game. I don't think that's possible, but apparently the coaches see something that I'm not seeing, so we'll trust in our fantastic coaching staff. Can't wait until the SG to see what our team looks like without DW4.

If he doesn't win the job, I think a move to safety or running back would make sense. Normally, I would say WR but we are so stacked there, it would be difficult for him to get on the field.

In our offense, you had better be able to pass the ball or you aren't going to make it at QB. Being dangerous as a runner is an added benefit. DW4 passed the ball about 56 times of a total of 99 plays in the Championship game. If you take out the punt plays, we have about 37+ plays where we ran the ball. Give me a QB that is an outstanding passer with pretty good running skills and we will be in good shape to repeat playing in the CFP games. As we all know, DW4 was outstanding at both of those skills. He is one of a kind and a great Tiger!!

If Bryant can make the throws he'll start

It's really that simple. Let's be fair to him here. For one thing, Schussler showed himself to be a pretty competent back up. But if DW had gone down Kelly would have gotten snaps. He didn't throw this year as he only played at garbage time.
I'm pulling for the guy. If he can make the throws, he rubs like Cam Newton. What a weapon he could be.
If he can't make the throws and gets beat out, so be it. But he's the man until he's not the man. And if he's not, I don't think we see a repeat of the Stoudt situation. But there could still be packages for him at QB even as a backup for his running ability.
