Wanted to continue this discussion here...but is anyone else noticing the lack of passes into the endzone?
It seems like more often than not Clemson or Cade does not test a throw into the endzone unless it's a short pass. I'm not sure if it's by design or not. But it seems like the players are having to catch it short and run it in after the catch or they are just getting closer in order to call a run play closer to the goalline.
Of Cade's 9 touchdown passes:
Redzone:
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Will Shipley for 2 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Tyler Brown for 2 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Antonio Williams for 5 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Jake Briningstool for 7 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Antonio Williams for 10 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Will Shipley for 10 yds for a TD
Cade Klubnik pass complete to Josh Sapp for 25 yds for a TD
Outside of redzone:

Cade Klubnik pass complete to Beaux Collins for 69 yds for a TD
Maybe I'm crazy but it seems like the plan is to get as close as possible to the goalline before throwing into the endzone.

Shipley cannot run it in when given the chance. And we waste End Zone passing plays on his runs.

You do realize we have a young QB and our O Line didn't give him much time to throw vs. FSU....I think Riley is slowly---but surely---bringing him along. I expect him to take more deep shots as he gets more comfortable in the pocket.

And even more impressive is after redshirting he only had 4 TDs in 139 snaps his first playing season... and two of those came in one game, the bowl loss to USF....

pretty crazy. This is kind of what we've come to expect, but it's still wild to see this after 9 seasons of Tajh, Deshaun, and Trevor aggressively pushing the ball down the field.
