Krieger's batting average......

Apr 13, 2013, 8:36 AM

caught the tail end of a conversation between the game announcers last night and Mahoney (I think it was) said that Krieger's BA on 3/17 was around .170 and now its around .270.....can anyone verify that or the accurate numbers???---cuz if its true, thats a hefty hitting streak the last 3-4 weeks considering he's a starter!!!

Also---is the "story" I heard about him being related to Rock'n'Roll HOF member Robbie Krieger true???

Thanks in advance

I'm sure that's accurate and not that big a deal really

batting averages fluctuate wildly early in the season when you don't have that many at-bats.

I remember when Slaton was batting .067 four weeks ago (in the UVa series)....he's now batting .350.

here are stats: http://www.clemsontigers.com//ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28500&CONTENT_ID=393946

Overall Statistics for Clemson (as of Apr 12, 2013)

# Player avg gp-gs ab r h 2b 3b hr rbi tb
3 Tyler Krieger .268 35-35 123 15 33 6 1 0 13 41

So he is close to .270 now. Dont know about the other two items.

Yes, Tyler Krieger is hitting much better recently...

going into the game with Charleston Southern on March 13, he was hitting .174. Over the last 21 games, he's raised his average nearly 100 points. As Don and Roy pointed out, that's a pretty impressive "hot streak" for a starter.

And .....

we also faced lots of the best pitching in the country early in the season.
