Lanning is the guy @ OK

Dec 2, 2021, 5:17 PM

Simply my two cents. Oklahoma is waiting on Lanning, the DC at Georgia. Post championship weekend, they'll make the announcement. Stoops will serve a role much like Brad Scott and Terry Bowden have done at Clemson. I believe if BV was really the chosen one, he'd already be in place recruiting and practicing damage control while his agent worked out the contract. I hope I'm right.

Maybe. I read on CBS that holgorson at Houston is the choice. Same reason he hasn’t been announced. I could see either being the pick and their delay in announcing would seem to support it’s somebody playing this weekend

think you're right.don't think he'd be on the recruiting trail for the tigers right now.

It's a process. Too many former players and donors want Venables. He is gonna get offered this job this weekend. The AD is interviewing all candidates so that he does the process. Prepare for life after Venables. It's coming. Just one guys opinion.

Well, I don't know about that

I agree that BV would not be out on the recruiting trail if it were a done deal, but the fact that it's not a done deal doesn't mean BV isn't still in it. It may be that they want to interview Holgerson, Lanning, and Fickel before making an offer to anyone, including BV, and therefore BV is waiting on their timeline. I hope that OU has settled on one of those others, and is waiting till after the weekend to announce it, but while that is **consistent** with BV not being the choice, it doesn't necessitate it.

If it was a done deal with someone else, and they were simply waiting to announce, then BV could at least publicly say he's not going to be the next OU coach.
