Weather channel online yesterday, quarter 'til noon:

High of 87

It was already 91.

Banner ad invites me to see what weather will be like in the year 2050.

The hubris of these watermelons knows no bounds.

Any cultists care to defend it?

You're absolutely right! We should absolutely trust what comes from right-leaning think tanks in Washington, because after all, lobbyists on K Street are where the real science is done!

Do this intellectual exercise for me, if you would: find a paper, any paper, that opposes climate change. Then check to see if it was funded by the Heartland Institute, the Cato Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, or industry groups like the API - the American Petroleum Institute or Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. (Which is a bit like a coalition called Junkies For Healthy Living, but nevermind the irony there.)

If you can find one that wasn't, I'll give you a gold star.

I'll give you a hint: you won't. And the fascinating thing about these lobbies is they're the exact same ones that once made their living claiming cigarettes didn't cause lung cancer. Would you like to go back and revisit that argument too?

just use "climate change."

Like

"How's the climate change going to be this weekend?"
"Climate change will be rain this weekend."
"The climate change forecast for the race next week will be next on WRAL news."

I watched the Weather Channel once.

When it looked like this, and was.....the weather.

Then they changed to this......

Haven't watched 30 minutes of The Weather Channel in 15 years probably. I have an App on the phone/car with the radar, a weather station in the back yard, and watch the local news and the local NWS for the forecast. That's it.

A weather channel that has been busted faking hurricane severity?

Why are you watching it?

Well, see, it's a logic chain. And the chain goes: the Weather Channel made a mistake! And the Weather Channel tells us there is such a thing as climate change! Therefore, because a cable channel that promotes the idea of climate change made an error, it then follows that all climate-change research everywhere and everywhen is wrong!

Infallible logic, that. What can we do but bow to the intellectual giants capable of such reasoning?

I was looking for a defense of the claim that ANYONE can predict the weather (or climate for that matter) twenty-six years out.

The josh (which I thought plainly obvious) was that they can't even get the weather right on the DAY OF, but imply that they can predict it nearly three decades hence.
