Where did all the Cade love go? DJ throws pretty good when he has time in the pocket. Cade was pressing, 2 three and outs. So I guess we were all wrong, DJ is not going anywhere. Debate over?

To be fair, Cade was running for his life. OL not protecting and no receivers open.

Receivers issue too? I do think Cade has the higher ceiling between the two ultimately, but DJ ain’t chopped liver either. If the oline does it’s job and the receivers do their job, this is a championship team. I have zero doubt that DJ can and will get the job done. ZERO DOUBT.

DJ is the starter and has been solid so far.
Cade looked like a freshman yesterday.
Here lies the issue. If the oline can improve (ALLOT) DJ can be successful. The accuracy has improved.
If the oline continues to play the way it has we may need the more mobile QB which is Cade.
I don’t know what Dabo saw in camp, but I have been very disappointed in the oline play thus far. No consistent push against an FCS team yesterday. And the pass blocking has been ok but not great. Really hoping to see a big improvement quickly.

If DJ has time and the receiver's get some separation he is pretty good. If he gets pressured or has to choose whether to throw in tight coverage he is bad.
If the o line doesn't improve greatly, Cade still may give us the best shot.

Yes DJ has been and should be the starter from day one. DJ is a really good QB when everyone else is executing. Been saying this since last year, and to be honest there are very few QBs can play with subpar line protection AND WRs who have an excessive drop rate. The proof is 2020/2022. When the Oline protects and the WR catch the ball DJ is great (1st half Furman) when they don't he is avg at best (2nd half Furman/2021).

Very simple. DJ looked the best he has since 20 yesterday. I saw Antonio Williams breaking free all alone for a touchdown he never saw while he was rolling out into pressure lol. The debate is closed for good I’d say. This is the most concerned I’ve been since 2010. Hoping it was just heavy hearts for BB11’s sister. The team looked bad and uninterested yesterday. DJ was the only one that seemed to want to play.

He is not giving the play enough time to develop and gets out of the pocket too quickly. This can be corrected.

I agree he did seem to get out of the pocket fairly quick. Would have liked to see him run up the field some but it was great to get him some reps!

I noticed this too. It's at least a step in the right direction, but it was Furman, so there is that...I still wish we would have given Cade more meaningful snaps.

When we were playing Furman. And the receivers were literally running around wide open all over the field. But, solid flex or whatever. Time will tell.

I wish that wasn't the case but it is the case. I'd like Cade to get more playing time so he can have those growing pains against these lesser teams.
I hope DJ comes out and proves me wrong but I just don't think he's the guy that can take us to where we want to go.
