Lundardi's Bracketolgy as of yesterday:
He has Clemson as an automatic qualifier, but an 8 seed. Duke gets a 5 seed. Hard to imagine Clemson having the season they're currently having, winning the tournament and only being an 8 in the dance. I'll definitely take it, but the pundits are undervaluing this team.

His bracketology is meant more of as an "if the season ended now" type of thing...not necessarily a projecting what will happen over the next six weeks type of thing. All of the AQ's on his list are the current first place teams in each league. He has done that for years. In no way is it an implied prediction for the tournament.

He doesn't attempt to pick all the conference champions. He simply lists whoever is leading the conference as the aq. For one bid conferences you simply swap if someone makes the upset in the tourney. For better, multibid conferences any team leading at this point in the season SHOULD be a near lock regardless of conference tourney performance. Unfortunately Lunardi is also aware how damaging 2 quad 4 losses are to the committee. An 8 seed as the aq is a very low vote of confidence for where we would be seeded if we don't win the conference.

Actually they ate pretty accurate. Everyone is falling in love with our record. They went our schedule this morning on WCCP and our schedule is garbage. Our next 5 or 6 opponent are ranked like 135 or something like that. When you watch this team, they are improved but not great. You will all be disappointed come tournament time. One win maybe 2

our average margin of victory is 9.1 points.
That is pretty dominant if you ask me.
Since the Loyola Chicago loss on December 10th, we are 8-1 and playing really good basketball.
We aren't the same team without Chase Hunter, but if we can get him back healthy, and also get Hemenway back, we are going to be a tough out for anyone. This can be a special team.

My theory is that the one-and-done schools like Duke, UNC, & UK struggle early due to freshmen getting a lot of PT. As the season progresses and the freshmen develop, they're way better. Case in point, UNC lost to Purdue, Tenn, KY, Notre Dame, Miami, and WF early on, then played for the national championship.
Lunardi is likely factoring that in, as will the selection committee.

Well, we know this will change 10 times and he's close but not always right.
As for the acc being weak. It's not dumb. Sure you can point to last year. Every year there's surprise teams. The talk of acc weak is because in years past the Duke/unc game was usually top 10 match-up, if not top 5. In addition, traditional teams have been ranked. ND, Louisville, cuse, are crap this year. Others that usually get in are your NC State, ga tech. And fsu are down. NC State is middle. So, yes, spin it how you wish but the acc is down... and has been for several years now.
Even 10 years ago if you were 8/9 finish, you would probably get a bid. Now with 68, 72 or whatever gets a chance, acc will probably have 5, maybe a 6th playin game.
As We you know, I've been bullish on this team from the start. We got a good team. Let's celebrate it, but no reason to try and justify whether or not our opponents are weak.

Does anyone really believe Clemson will seed higher than 7? They are doing well and I am proud of the team, but I don't see a realistic situation that has them get a higher seed. In my opinion he is about right Clemson will seed between 7 and 10. With my guess leaning more towards 10 than 7. I am only a passive basketball fan so admittedly my opinion is not based on a lot of experience. Just out of curiosity what is the highest seed Clemson has ever gotten? I don't remember them ever having a top 5 seed.

I’m hoping for a 6-7 seed. That’s too 30. Top 4 in ACC regular season and at least semifinal ACC tournament. Do not want the dreaded 5-12 game. Bracket not bad for 6-7 seeds. Don’t have to play #1 till elite 8.

it is what it is and doesnt matter much at this point Overall, the NET rankings of ACC teams is way down this year and some are downright embarrassing. Our losses to 2 Quad 4 teams doesnt help and neither does the fact that we dont have any marquee wins to date. Duke kind of counts.
