I think you made a good guess. Those who want out of the ACC don't want to make it harder by bringing in more teams that don't add value. Those who want to stay in the ACC would probably love to add them to try and remain relevant after the defections.

I would go counter on that and say it's Wake, Duke, BC, and Syracuse that are hard Nays.
Seems like there is a clause in the latest agreement that any change in league makeup voids the current commitment, which would allow for us and others to depart without penalty. Those 4 would want to prevent that. Otherwise it's probably what you said.
