But when we hear about the good that Hunters does on the field, it's no surprise to Tiger nation. It's no surprise bc we have seen him go from a preferred walk-on, to one of the best good hands receivers to ever earn a full scholarship at Clemson. When Hunter fished his FB career at Clemson, people that didn't know he came to Clemson as a preferred walk-on, they would probably think that he came to Clemson as a 4-5 star recruit.
For me personally, I'm glad that Dabo realize that Hunter Renfrow had been over looked during his recruitment. I believe that when Dabo offered Hunter as a preferred walk-on, he knew that Hunter was worthy of a scholarship offer, but he wanted Hunter to prove it during practice, and at game time as he certainly did.
There isn't all that many preferred walk-on players that can tell a story of how they earned a full scholarship ride at the end of their red shirt freshman season. And there aren't many stories of a college walk on, playing as a go to receiver in the NFL, but Hunter Renfrow is proof that it happens!!!
The Hunter Renfrow story really makes me wonder how many college scouts/coaches at the power 5 level that looked at Hunter, and none of them saw the raw talent that Dabo saw in an undersize Hunter Renfrow.

Hunter's response showed the humility of a Christian. Not so with Jalen; show a little respect. I'd take Hunter over Jalen any day. It's about character, and Dabo knows that.

which of the two came from a program that places a priority on developing character and integrity and which came from a program that is in desperate need of a cultural overhaul.

Let’s be completely honest

Bobby Bowden was a good family man and a good Christian, but he built that program on partial qualifiers that schools in the SEC and ACC could not recruit. And he was never exactly what you would call a disciplinarian. His teams often had serious character issues among other problems. he might’ve been a great man away from the football field, but when it came to football Florida State, like the University of South Carolina, Miami, and a lot of other programs had and have a win at all cost mentality.
I want Clemson to be great, but not doing it the wrong way. I appreciate that Dabo is doing it the right way and I love that Dabo and Clemson are the model that so many young coaches are following!
Imagine if Georgia or Alabama or Ohio state handicapped their recruiting the way we do to build a better culture and serve a higher purpose?!

Well, if they were playing zone, forgetaboutit. You can slow Renfrow down by playing man against him if you're good enough 1-on-1 with your pure cover skills but I don't know that there's any corner - and that seemingly includes Ramsey - who can cover Renfrow playing zone. And the Rams are pretty much a straight zone team; there's been games they played single digit snaps in man coverage in 20202.
That ain't good at all for covering Renfrow.
He's just too good a route-runner, has too good a feel for those soft spots, and is too good at setting defenders up, and my guess would be he left Ramsey quite frizzle-fried.

Non story. Every Clemson fan from all ages will always love Hunter but anyone who has ever played a sport knows every day is a different day.

So we can decide for ourselves. I don't see why it wouldn't be public, there can't be too much privacy if two different teams were practicing together.

I can’t really comment on this in a way that doesn’t come off sounding bad. So just gonna leave it at that. I will say that Renfrow will always be my boy and continues to represent us well. Hope he has a great season.
Well said. I will add that I have always respected Ramsey until he said "I am the chosen one".

The differences in our program and theirs is so extremely apparent

after reading that trash can’s (because I can’t call him what I really want to on here) comments about his performance vs Hunter’s.
Hunter is very well spoken and complimentary of the trash can.
The trash can acts like a child and speaks like one as well. Way to go SEC and Bammer. It just means more.
You can take the thug out of the ghetto, but the ghetto out of the thug. And the fact that these thugs make so much money has really turned me off from pretty much all pro sports but especially the NFL.

I didn’t realize Smyrna, TN and Brentwood Academy were in the ghetto? What exactly makes Jalen a thug? Are you speaking in code to “your kind of people”?

Reading Jalen’s text is one thing, but after listening to the video I thought he said nothing disrespectful. He is certainly no orator but he gave Hunter his due respect. These guys have to play with confidence so I don’t expect them to admit that they got beat.
Hunter is a beast though. Crazy athletic and just a stone cold winner. Partially bald and nothing that gives you the impression that he is about to burn you. Then it happens. Clemson legend.

Just for what it is worth, Ramsey played in the ACC at Florida State. That said, he has always been an entitled, bib mouthed tool. He talked trash at FSU, he talked trash at the Jags, and he talked trash in LA. Just own it that you had a bad day. I recall when Prime was at Atlanta and he got lit up one game by Jerry Rice, he said "That's a BAD MAN" and owned it. Jalen is NO Deon Sanders, and that's ok. He should have just laughed and said, "Yeah, I DID get toasted by a guy who looks like a Google employee, and so will others, now let's tee it up again." See? didnt hurt, and it would have been a lot less of a story AND you look better in the end. SMH.

David Carr says that seeing him in that practice gives him confidence in Renfrow. Ummmm?? Where have you been the last couple years? I suppose if you were a better qb, youd know what you have....
