Circumstances were different, but this old Tiger was thinking of another Gator Bowl, Charlie Baughman, Woody Hayes, and what that Gator Bowl lead to for Clemson Nation. I hope Charlie was watching.

Charlie Bauman was a regular on Tigernet Chat about 20 years ago, but idiots harassed him so much about the Woody Hayes incident that he disappeared.

This is sad to hear. I appreciate all those that made us who we are today. Thank you!

I was at this game, but my seats were near ground and our team stood on benches most game w excitement. Never knew what happened until car ride home!

Danny Ford tells the greatest story of that night. He also was not aware of exactly what happened at first. When he heard that one of the Ohio State coaches had punched the Clemson player, he approached the referee who is several decades his senior. Danny threatened to walk his team off the field if they did not do more than a personal foul. The older official looked back at coach, Danny Ford, all of 29 years old at the time and told him “you don’t do anything stupid son, y’all gonna win this football game”
At that point, Danny Reply, “yes sir” and he returned to the sideline.
