On one hand you have all of these medical professionals begging people to stay home and saying this is the beginning of this virus.
Then on the other hand, you have the President wanting to send everybody back to work so the stock market can recover.

and let a few million old people who don't work anyway, and tax the system with medicare and social security anyway, die. For everyone else, it will suck, you'll miss probably a month of work and be miserably sick anyway, but you'll recover.

But that is also a large miscalculation by the President since the largest part of his base is those that the virus would kill faster.

Between 40-50% of cases are between 20-50 currently, so yeah the old elderly thing is not shaping up currently in the USA.

He said easing up restrictions to help the economy. Somebody with a little logic can easily look at that as sending people back to work.
Why? Because how do you restart the economy? YOU OPEN BACK UP BUSINESSES BY SENDING THESE PEOPLE BACK TO THEIR JOBS.
But I guess we can't just assume 2+2 actually equals 4 unless Trump specifically says it.

I find it amazing that some on here can find an excuse for one president to explain away saying he had visited 57 states, yet another president can say he WANTS to EASE up on (suggested, not mandated) shutdowns SOON....and they can make that sound like he's marching the American public to their death.

but the fact that he's thinking out loud about it says a lot.
He loves to float ideas out there in the press conferences and his rallies. Sees how the people take it, then either goes with it if it's favorable to him, or pretends like he never said it or never meant it if it's negative. It's a pretty smart strategy.

I think you’re being a little dramatic and irrational about this. In areas that are seeing widespread community transmission yes, keep it locked down but areas of the country that have 1 or 2 cases per county should not be forcing businesses to close.

There is no way an infectious disease that stays on surfaces for days will not spread if people start going back to their daily mobile lives in these counties where there are 1 or 2 cases.
