Auburn defense

Aug 7, 2012, 11:15 AM

I am getting the impression their defense, especially the secondary is suspect, along with some inexperience on the line, like us. Also, think playing without Sammy won't be the problem some sports announcers would like us to think. Our recievers will run them silly and AJ will finish the workout. If TB has anywhere near decent game we will roll.

O-Line. Auburn has some good players up front on D and if our line is not ready to play, it could spell another long night in the dome.

Tajh having "anywhere near a decent game" is dependent on the line. If the hogs win the battle upfront and control the line of scrimmage, the offense will most certainly roll. Big if, though.

Auburn's D-line is the strength of their defense. The have suspect linebacker play, however, and a couple question marks at DB.

Make no mistake, though - that defense should be improved from last year.

will help the D tremendously when they slow that offense down. they did not have the qb to run it last year, nor this.

loeffler has the background to take pressure off their D.

What I can't quite figure out is that AU had a lousy D last year - one of the worst in the SEC, but they have most of them returning. Talking to AU fans, it sounds like their D is the one thing that will help them beat us. It's going to come down to line play I think. Give TB (uh - Boyd) time, and we score on these guys. If not, then we'd better hope that BV (uh - Venable) has taught our D well. If we lose, it will be because their D was so much better than our O.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

awbarn's d had no help from their O. they lost almost 200

Aug 7, 2012, 2:00 PM

yrds/game in O from 2010 to 2011. their malzahn led O flat out sucked because they had no motor[qb].

cu's D lost 3 to the nfl draft, plus a bunch of other snaps at DT, played horribly at times last year and you're hopeful?
