Military appreciation day

Nov 13, 2021, 4:58 PM

That’s what today was at Clemson. As a veteran I knew some amazing men who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Who’s families will never be the same and will always be missing a dad, husband, son, and brother. They are true heroes, a word that is thrown around way too often these days. I have also know some amazing men and women who didn’t pay the ultimate sacrifice but they made some big sacrifices for the freedoms that we enjoy.

Those freedoms include Darien Renchers beliefs and his ability to voice them. They even include the right for players to kneel for the anthem. While I may not agree with everything that Rencher believes or kneeling for the anthem, I believe in their right to exercise their freedom.

You have the right to disagree with me and or rencher and have intelligent dialogue and debate to try and persuade or reach common ground. You also have the right to be a complete @$$h0le and seem joyful that he fumbled a football because he believes differently than you.

You would think Clemson on military appreciation day could bring us all together regardless of our beliefs or backgrounds. Apparently it’s just not the case.
