If all gubmint institutions are run like this, I'm not sure how people work in them at all.
I wish I would have taken some PTO and came up here and worked for a couple days. I had it figured out by about day 3...and by week 5 I was as good as out the door.

get a little sick of the stupid bullchit. Then I think back on the stress, pressure, and micromanaging I was under in the private industry and I remember why I took this job. I literally laid out of work yesterday with a sick kid (4 SRS) and nobody batted an eye.

I are. My job is so highly critical to the function of the state that if I revealed the true nature of my duties most of you wouldn't be able to sleep at your desk. Seriously, I have to be in constant contact in case certain decisions need to be made about public welfare and the environment that they are threatening to take my flip phone and give me an iPhone. Doesn't get much more critical than that. As long as I have my phone I can sleep or post on TNet. Ya'll feel better now? Probably shouldn't.
