Guys! Clemson is still a good program and will make bowls..

I have seen quite a few on here act like the Clemson program is on the verge of collapse. The program is still solid and you guys have the hardware to prove it. Think how many programs would, literally, kill to be in Clemson’s shoes.
Cyclical.
I use that word and it is NOT a bad thing. It is inevitable.
I think folks are overreacting in a major way. Clemson will remain a good and solid program that can make bowl games with regularity. Certainly competing for an ACC Title is not out of the question, either.
Just my honest opinion as someone who follows Clemson and I have met very few people who know more than I do about Clemson and college football in general.
You guys are a solid program

Not a good troll. A envious troll. We have 3 titles since uga last won one. He knows a lot about Clemson football he can verify these claims. And seeing the way bama beat them down they aren’t changing that this year. It must really hurt knowing the best team in uga history still can’t cut it lol.

Honestly we need to thank uga. So thank you! Uga was so superior to Clemson in every way they let DW4 and TL16 slip away. Wasn’t even interested in recruiting them. Thanks! You can keep being superior with less to show for it.

The Bevo-Uga encounter still has unanswered questions, like in what world would a couple of freestanding aluminum frames provide a secure enclosure for a 1500-lb animal? And, whose brilliant idea was it to take a dog bred to harrass cattle, dress him in red, and park him in front of a young bull in unfamiliar and noisy surroundings?

anything less than a playoff fixture every year for the foreseeable future, starting with next year.
If we are honest, we aren’t making the playoffs next year without significant improvements on the offensive side of the ball, and little to no drop off on defense. That’s going to be a tall order.

Clemson had some 17 starters or key reserves injured this year. They played four ranked teams: the current 3rd, 12th, 17th, and 18th ranked teams in America. They lost three of those games by a combined total of 23 points, all on the road, with one of those being in double overtime. Additionally, that is as many or more CFP end of regular season ranked teams than Alabama or Georgia played, and four times as many as Cincinnati played. (BTW, Alabama also lost on the road to a ranked team, #25). Clemson finished 9-3 and 6-2 in conference play. Considering the injuries and inconsistent offensive play, it is a small miracle Clemson went 9-3, even when one considers “top 5 talent.”
Judge, I like most of your basketball posts, and I have agreed with you on supporting Coach Brownell. Coach Brownell is a good coach, and anyone coaching basketball at Clemson is always going to be fighting an uphill battle. However, you have seemed hyper critical of the football staff this season, but you continuously make excuses for the basketball staff. How can you be cognizant of the clear limitations and handicaps faced by the basketball team staff, but you are so unwilling to acknowledge the very valid reasons as to why the football team “underachieved” this year? To the best of my knowledge, Coach Swinney and Coach Brownell are friendly with each other, and Dabo has often shown his support and appreciation for Coach Brownell and the basketball team. So, considering that, why have you been rather salty and cynical toward Coach Swinney and his staff this year? Sincere question. It just seems a bit odd and out of character for one who defends a particular Clemson coaching staff as much as you do. I’m not trying to be a jerk. I would just like to know. And, Go Tigers in both sports!

Our injuries this year are unprecedented in my decades as a Clemson fan.
Dec 9, 2021, 10:28 PM

However, I don’t think they explain nor excuse how poorly our offense has played this year.
We were not prepared on offense from the start this year, and there is less margin for error when we have one of the most talented teams in college football, the highest paid coaching staff, and every advantage to be successful - especially against the ACC.
This isn’t to say that our team should never lose a game, or that a rebuilding year isn’t allowed. Hopefully that’s all this year was - a rebuilding year. But if we look deeper, we can see that there were signs of issues within our program, and especially on offense, before this season. It’s concerning that those weren’t recognized before this season, nor were they addressed during the season when they were clearly evident.
I love Dabo. He’s the best thing that ever happened to our program. But this season has been super disappointing, and part of the blame falls on him as the head coach. That doesn’t take anything away from his outstanding accomplishments. In fact, his incredible success here is precisely why this season has been so uncharacteristically disappointing.
The fact that I am harder on the football program than the basketball program is solely based on the fact that our football program has every advantage, while our basketball program has few. I want both to be successful, but the expectations for both are certainly different.
Thanks for your post.

Ironically, I get the same feeling from both TE and Coach Brownell. To me, both seem to make slow improvements and then there's an injury or transfer that sets us back and we start over again.
Football wise, I thought our offense made constant improvements all year. I just felt like most of the changes could have been made in the first month, and it was obvious to all that changes were needed from the start.
As far as basketball, I am much more of a casual fan, but this is my casual take on things. I thought Brownell should have been fired 5 or 6 years ago. He wasn't and overall the program has slowly improved. The last few years, especially, there seems to have been an improvement in recruiting which gives me hope for the future.
With football this year and basketball in general, I have found myself happy with the direction, but disappointed by the pace.

Judge, something tells me that you have privately been looking forward to this year for quite some time. Seriously, we get it, you love Brownell and all things Tiger basketball. But wow, way to always try to find the negative in ANYTHING football related to make Clemson basketball seem less mediocre. I mean, dang, how about the last National Title win, did they not put enough points on Bama, we gonna bash them for that? How does CU basketball get every excuse and pass on the planet from you, and we have one, UNO year without at a minimum an ACC title since what, '15 and oh heck "We suck". Seriously dude, the shtick is exhausting.

I have seen quite a few on here act like the Clemson program is on the verge of collapse. The program is still solid and you guys have the hardware to prove it. Think how many programs would, literally, kill to be in Clemson’s shoes.

You guys are a solid program
He’s projecting his own misery and self doubt about his lowly program onto Clemson during a rare down year. Georgia is ok on the field and great in recruiting. I think programs around the country view UGa as a 2nd tier SEC program behind Bama and LSU and maybe A&M. I’m glad we as Clemson fans can beat our chest and brag about 2 titles in the last 5 years and being a close 2nd overall the past decade. While Georgia fans can be proud of their few accomplishments, if they are honest with themselves, look upon Clemson with envy and jealousy. They know the once a decade conference title is all they can hope for as long as Bama is Bama. (Probably after too)

As a golfer, I’m honest. I know my game. As a 3 handicap, few people can beat me. But, that does not mean I can try to carry it 250 over water.
Same thing for football. Clemson is a solid program and will remain so.
Clemson has a chance to win the Cheez-it bowl and win 10 games. Few teams can do that.
The Clemson program is STILL in good shape and you guys will make bowl games in the years to come. So many other programs would do anything to trade places with you.
Don’t understand the angst some on here espouse.

That Alabama stool jamming really hurt your feelings didn’t it. You really owe it all to DJ and Clemson. We both know, we all know, Clemson was better than your Bulldogs. You were saved by a shockingly bad QB just like in 2014. Thank god you avoided Clemson from 2015-2020. They were better than Bama. Imagine how bad they would have beaten the offensively challenged Georgia teams you regurgitate out on a yearly basis. Congrats on your big win over us. But we all kind of know the truth. Don’t we?

I don’t really hate them. My dad does. But I sort of feel superior to them in football. Not as much as I do the Chickens. I still think they owe us big for the pick 6 game. They were a QB away from 0-2 against elite programs this year.

Dawgs play in a weak division for the past forever, sec least!!!
Bama owns them!! Ole ball sac owned them, and us for that matter.
Cincinnati took them too the edge last season.
Skunk bears will take them to the edge again this year.

You honestly don't know what you're talking about, and nobody cares what you or any other UGA fan thinks.
Dabo can hire anybody he wants, never use the transfer portal, hire all his best friends as coaches, run the program straight into the ground, and you still won't know what you're talking about.
The only thing that is cyclical or inevitable is UGA not winning national championships, their program continually not measuring up, and their fans acting like imbecilic blabbermouths.

We can make bowls? Solid program? Gee, that's like saying Shaq is kinda tall and was a pretty good center. Cmon man, do better. I mean, we could say that Jawga is a pretty solid program as well, and that they can every 10 years or so win the SEC. Heck, the Dawgs can not only go to bowls, but can win national titles. I mean hey, don't let the fact that Georgia Tech has a more recent National championship that UGA keep yall from the hope that this..THIS is the YEAR!

You're gonna lose 2x to Alabama, and that 41 year curse will ride on.

Bro you realize how that is a back handed complement right. 6 wins gets you to a bowl and sometimes 5 wins does as well. No one wants to just be a bowl eligible team every year. 6-7 wins on a regular basis will get you fired.
I fully believe we’ll be back king of the ACC as usual and competing for a playoff spot by 2023. Just a bump in the road.
Dem dogs better hope you finally get that NC this year because this is a very down year across college football so if you can’t this year it might be harder in the future. This GA team wouldn't have had a shot in hell to win it the last 7 years.
