As far as the TN lawmakers being expelled, how does one expel black lawmakers without race being cited as a reason by somebody? It's got to be nearly impossible.

The bottom line/takeaway here for me is that we all have to be expected to find ways to disagree without either persecuting or killing each other. For example, if you are a Christian (or any person) who believes transgenderism is a sin, or an illness that needs to be corrected, that belief cannot be used as justification for harrassing, bullying, coercing, or otherwise persecuting transgender people. On the other hand, transgender people cannot use that persecution, perceived or real, as justification for commiting acts of violence against otherwise innocent people for simply holding those beliefs or being associated with institutions that hold or promote those beliefs.
If we do classify transgenderism as a mental illness (which we don't, officially), it's extremely important that we make it clear that it is not an illness that typically leads to murder, specifically mass murder, or is in any way a predictive causal factor for those crimes. We don't need to fear transgender people.
There is no doubt in my mind that Audrey Hale was suffering from a severe mental illness of some kind, as is the case with any mass muderer, in my opinion.
Let's just all accept disagreements and differences of opinion as not only normal, but inevitable, and agree not to hate, harass, or kill each other over them. It's possible to stand strong in one's beliefs without compromise, while still being respectful of and kind to those who disagree.

Right, trans is not regarded as a mental illness, just the distress and discomfort that may result from being trans. I think it's important to consider that a lot of that distress and discomfort may be due to the way the rest of society views and treats trans people, rather than from being trans itself.
I agree that being trans is not "normal", in that it is not the norm. For most trans people, I'm sure it's very a very difficult thing that no one would choose.

the shooter is responsible for what happened. My whole point is, this isn't a reason to fear, hate, or view trans people as a threat or problem that we need to be wary of.
