Its amazing how Dabo and Chad are super guarded

in their praise of DW...I have seen Dabo heaping more praise on the water boy for pouring water right than the near record breaking performance by DW....
It's almost like they want to cover thier butts for not starting this level talent over a senior who had paid their dues!
So far I've heard - Watson wasn't vocal enough - Watson had a horrible start to fall practice - Watson can't go under center - Watson could have made more TDs if not for the mistakes (this after throwing 6 freakin TDs)
They even try to break his rhythm by inserting Cole after that NFL style TD pass.
We just may have won the GA game with DW as starter and that falls on this highly paid staff who are apparently above any criticism!
I can understand covering your butts but please not at the cost of a young phenom at QB!

The fact is...

that you are the most mindless, awkward, gheyest of the pumpers. There is no reason or substance with you. You'd make a perfect MSNBC political analyst... or campaign manager for the Hillary 2016 presidential race.
But just in case, please give me one rational explanation for taking out a QB who had led us to SIX scores and putting in an obviously less-talented QB when our defense was getting pummeled and the last thing in the effing WORLD we needed was a 3 & out to give the ball back to the opposing team with time 6 minutes left in the game and only up 2 scores? Can you reason me that?
It was a MISTAKE. Period. A stupid, inexplicable mistake. If you can't admit that, you lose the last shred of credibility you have for discussing sports on this board, even as a shameless sold-out pumper.

Like I said, debate something. Anything.
Speaking of "mindless, awkward" and "no reason or substance", what the he!! are you even talking about? I mean, seriously, what is your point and how is in counter to anything I said?
Please stop with the fantasy writing though. Something tells me you were a big fan of Dungeon and Dragons back in the day. I bet I'm right.

I don't try to second-guess our staff in matters like this,

but I recall both Frank Howard and Danny Ford were cautious about overt flattery toward any one particular player.
While DW had an outstanding performance, he will surely be more severely tested in the weeks to come. Thus, he has to remain grounded and continue developing his talents. The staff is aware of this and are, perhaps, being careful with that development.
I do not believe, however, that their failure to overemphasize his performance has anything to do with any "cover-up" of any of their prior decisions regarding DW's playing time. That's just too disingenuous...in my opinion, of course.

of Mistakes during the NC games. Hopefully he will learn from them--he said. Yes we would be in a LOT better shape if the best player had started the season. Yes the Coaches made a huge error by not starting Watson in the GA game. No they won't admit to such a huge blunder. This is CYA moment with the down playing of most everything Watson has done right. They still want CS to shine above Watson so they don't look so bad for not starting the best player. Looks like they put friendship above winning and only succumbed when it was in their face that CS could not get the job done. Dabo kept saying over and over--CS gave us the best chance to beat FSU. We all know that after the first series CS was gone. Did Dabo ever admit to being wrong? Apologize for being wrong? More like he apologized to CS and not the team and/or the fans Then to put CS in after DW had a spectacular start in the GA and the NC game was another slap in the face to DW and the fans. As a fan of Dabo, I hope he never gets so emotionally involved with a player again that he forgets the object of each game is to play the best players we have. This goes for MO too. Just my opinion and many others I see on here

Chad said DW reminded him of Vince Young.
That doesn't seem like guarded praise to me.

In regards to PR, at least.
It is obvious to anyone that Watson should have been the man from day 1. We would have had a better chance to win the UGA and FSU game with Watson.

Look - it's not a "guarded" thing at all. Here's why:
Cole had done everything that's been asked and has waited patiently for his opportunity. You can't just toss him aside immediately and let the new and unknown guy take the reins. Would YOU have done that? If so, that's retarded IMO. No - you have to let Cole run the O, let Watson come in and see how he performs for several series, and THEN you can make a move if and only if Watson proves himself on the field. He did - end of discussion. He's the real deal - but it had to be done this way. Any other way shows major disrespect to our players and poor decision making on our coaches part. It was done perfectly. Maybe re-think your logic. It is NOT about the UGA game - or the FSU game - it's about the CLEMSON football program - long-term.

They are just trying to keep him on the same track and not let the hype get to him. Remember he is a TRUE Freshman. An 18 year old kid.
Maybe they don't want a Crab man on their hands.
I don't think Watson has one lick of Winston in him but fame can do a lot to an 18 yr old.
