My perception of DJ and CK has changed

I am now thinking/hoping maybe DJ has come back to form. I know Cade is a baller but this is a contract year for DJ. He has to be on the field all year. I think Cade will be only used in mop up duty.
Unless of course there has been no visible progress translating into games, DJ will play 80+% of snaps

Until we know that DJ is not doing the job, it is his. Until we find out Cade is a player, he is just another Freshman that potentially has a great career ahead of him. The cards will be played this season.

Unfortunately I think there is more to the contract year than I’d like to think. It’s not a good look on DJ or Clemson to get a bust on the best QB in America coming out of high school. If he implodes Dabo will do what’s right for the team, but if he’s average we are going to see more of him than we’d like.

We all need to hope DJ puts it together

I doubt it's a talent issue and DJ seems to have really put the work in.
My heart would break for that kid if he continues the way he played last year.
I am really pulling for this kid!

I am pulling for the kid. He was distracted last year. We were kids at one point and if you were unfortunate enough to go through a family divorce you know you're always thinking about your parents. It had to be hard on that kid because it was for me. Granted I wasn't a highly recruited kid as he was but even me playing at a small school it was hard for me. So, I feel for the kid. It seems like his mind is in a better place and he can just ball out like he did when he played ND. If he does that this team will be scary. Those WRs need to stay healthy and go get the ball like we recruited them to do. If they do that we will be just fine. That defense has something to prove, they want to prove that they are the reason the defense was great and not just the coach.

I was in high school when my parents got divorced and it almost cost me everything.
Would never want to wish that on any kid.

PBT I went through the same ordeal in middle school. I believe it’s shaped me in ways that I’m not very happy about as far as dealing with anxiety. 5 years ago I had to put my kids through the same deal and feel like a failure for doing so. I pray they handle it much better than their dad did. Thanks for sharing PBT!

I’m pulling for him too! He was hurt, out of shape and his head wasn’t right. The NIL money also had him acting like a younger Cam Newton (early NFL) and that was a turnoff. He’s lost some weight, had time to forgive his parents, has game experience and seems to have toned down the pimp-esque attitude. I believe he has what it takes

The coaches have decided to put the outcome of the season on DJ being the QB. My hope is Cade would get 25% of the snaps in these opening games so if DJ does not significantly improve his game, that Cade would have some real game experience before we get into the tougher part of the schedule.

Well we have about a month before we need to have that steady reliable QB. Weather it’s Cade , DJ or Hunter the coaches need to have it right. No excuses just play the best players and win.
