Hard to believe there is any truth to this but as they say, where there is smoke there is fire.

He will not and should not be fired.
However, I am sure he will make changes and he will be asked to make some changes. I also feel this year will serve as a hard lesson learned for him. I think he will change some of his tactics with hiring and portal usage going forward.

It should be hot. Not because we lost a few games, but because we are down right embarrassing as a Div I football team.

It's sad and unnecessary. We're now squandering what could have been a truly amazing mutli-decade reputation of football excellence and continuous outsized national prominence.

who ride coattails of success and then send you packing when things get tough.
No team can win forever, and while we all agree this team is underachieving in every way, this is a sport played by young kids/men. Hard to pin your hopes/dreams on young people playing a game.
Dabo is on no such hot seat, but media/analyst get paid for hot takes. This is just the media being the media, nothing more

Underachieving coaches more than the players...lack of development of players and poor players calling.

Any talk of Dabo being on the hot seat is ridiculous.

But it’s evident to most people that he is greatly overpaid for the job he’s done the last few years. We are an underachieving football program of late, doing less with more at an alarming rate.
Hopefully this experience is a wake up call for Dabo that he has made some really bad decisions, and also a lesson for the BOT that Dabo can’t just be allowed to do whatever he wants.

So would you have the BoT run the athletics then? That would apply to basketball as well.

The BoT has to approve the hires and the compensation packages. I think what he meant was they never should have allowed Dabo to hire Grisham, Austin, Spiller, and Goodwin (even though the jury is still out on him). Of course it never should have gotten to the BoT, the AD should have put a stop to it.
But they aren't impartial either. They see a guy like Spiller and think he was a great back for us, so he can teach these young guys a thing or two. The problem is being a good player doesn't translate to being a good coach. Plus they put their trust in Dabo. Now they're probably going to think twice about just rubber stamping a hire and nit pick everything.

Had this been a bad season due to a few key injuries, NO ONE would be saying this....
But here we are 3 years into the "student-to-coach" social experiment - and it has failed to say the least. It's nothing we don't all see. It's nothing that national correspondents don't see. It is, however, something that the blue-hair pumper crowd refuses to acknowledge.
Dabo will be given one season to make massive rehires on the coaching staff, to dive into the portal for additional help on the OLINE and to seriously correct this clown-show he's created since 2020. Why do I think this? Because MONEY talks. MONEY pays his salary. MONEY buys all that nice stuff CU's built around campus.....and MONEY will dictate how far his "culture" is allowed to overtake a winning mentality before he and it are put into check.

Excellent post. Good luck getting through to the folks you speak of. They are sort of like little girls were back in the day with boy bands. Except it’s Dabo and whoever is on his staff that they worship. It’s beyond annoying.

There was smoke about us leaving the ACC was eminent. But that was just from a couple of dumb ##### on Twitter / X (Swain as an example) just speculating. So no - smoke doesn’t mean fire all the time.
Ain’t no hot seat right now. As in Clemson could lose out, Dabo refuse to make any changes - and he and the rest would still be back next year.

Dabo isn’t on the hot seat.
Clemson can’t afford to fire him nor should we.
However, the heat he is feeling is 100% earned and self inflicted with a number of things he had total control over and he chose to do or not do.
These issues can’t be fixed mid season and likely can’t be fixed in one off season.
I’m afraid we’ll finish this year 4-8 or 5-7 depending on the SC game. And the wolves will be howling (and they should).
Dabo should/will be allowed to try to fix this mess.
I’m just not sure the “will” is there to do it.

They want him gone, he's to out spoken and talks to much about faith. National media hates an outspoken Christian.

It’s only 1.5% of the media talking about the hot seat so we can all relax…
