Harbaugh hate.....what's the origin?

I'm usually all in with CFB coach hate. Paul Johnson , Coach K, Urban Meyer, Ryan Day, Dave Doreen.....eff em all and there's no doubt as to the reasons why.
What's the genesis of most of the free world hating Harbaugh though? I feel like I missed an antic or two of his along the way. He's weird and quirky and appears to be egotistical, but for the most part the guy just seems bland and about as boring as a lettuce sandwich on white bread. I just find myself to be pretty indifferent to him for the most part. Actually, if you put aside their success levels in their respective careers, he's pretty much a football coach version of Brownell as far as I can tell.
I also can't get really mad about his connection to Michigan. Sure their fan base is a little annoying, but they're so much better than tOSU fans that it's not funny.
Where's the deep-seeded vitriol coming from? What'd he do?

I guess the arrogance, but the fact is, his assistants and staff were just dumb as rocks and were caught doing what probably many other are doing. Just looks like he is thumbing his nose at the rules.
I not as mad at him as frustrated that the NCAA let it get to the point where now they have absolutely no teeth and there is little or no consequence for not playing by certain rules

he was hated prior to that.
I've always liked the guy. Look at this way, arguable 3 of the best football coaches in this millenia all retired this week.
All 3 of them were cheating. One didn't get caught.
- Carroll (Reggie Bush had a house in Malibu)
- Belichik...deflate gate, spygate, etc.
- Saban...I've seen gif after gif of bama players in college, pre NIL, sitting in front of tricked out new cars and some with cash. been spending my free time on sec rant watching the trolls haha. The Jimbo fisher rant a year or two ago, alluding to if you guys only knew....yeah that #### was NIL before NIL was a thing.
They're all cheating.
Harbaugh is just a whack job that a lot of people can't relate to, IMO.

Some of the recruiting stories were weird. And then I saw his parents on tv last weekend and realized where he gets it. Strange people.
But the blatant cheating (even though a lot of others are doing it just hiding it better) I think made a lot of people really dislike him.

I was like you, indifferent. However, my most hated football programs' list is ND, USCw, Texas, UM and then OSU.
I'd pull for Bama with Satan coaching before any of that top five. I'd take USCe W/SOS coaching before them.
JH is just a victim of circumstances.

it was Shorty had some Harbaugh stories that gave credence to his attitude from the inaugural Panthers season in Clemson. I don't think he's what I'd call a loveable guy just from what I've seen in interviews and such, but other than his arrogance through the cheating stuff, he's been more of a guy I didn't think about more than someone who aggravated me.
