Nebraska

Aug 27, 2022, 2:13 PM

Unless something changes significantly in the 2nd half or they make an unbelievable run this year in the B1G, looks like the Huskers may be De-Frosting after this season.

Talking with my Husker friend a couple of weeks ago, he is already on defrost.

Yup. Old Marine buddy of mine born in Lincoln says Frost is now water.

Herbstreet’s pick to win the B10 West. Dios mio. On the plus side, their qb can sling it with accuracy.

Nebraska CANNOT afford to lose today...

Aug 27, 2022, 3:21 PM

because that means they have a very good chance to lose to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

Then they still have OU and Michigan on their schedule.

They rolled the dice with Frost and lost. They'll have to go big this time around

Huskers looking really mediocre.

Hilinski looking good.

Stephon Wynn on DLine for huskers. When he was coming out of high school rumor I heard was that he didn’t get along with Todd Bates. But I have no idea if that’s true. In addition we told him he was a DT and he wanted to be DE.

I wish Nebraska would fire Frost and hire a good coach. OSU needs some competition.

Frost looked like a GREAT hire a few years ago

I'm not sure anyone is really going to succeed at Nebraska unless the boosters start committing serious amounts of NIL money. Barring that, i think Nebraska is pretty much DOA as a football power. It's been 20 years since they had a nationally relevant team.

Aug 27, 2022, 3:50 PM

Speaking of competition in the Big Ten, one of the preseason TV programs this morning had Wisconsin listed is the best defense in the nation. LMAO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why is that so funny?

Aug 27, 2022, 3:52 PM

They were #1 last year by a wide margin.

UGA was #2.

Re: Why is that so funny?

Aug 28, 2022, 3:16 PM

The Badgers lose 8 defensive starters from last year's team. They'll still be good again this year, but probably not #1.

Funny because the analysts and experts are supposed to think

Aug 28, 2022, 4:55 PM [ in reply to Why is that so funny? ]

that we are the best at everything.

And when they don’t, we either laugh at them or get offended.

Heh heh, the Nebraska QB went from DW4 to DJ...

Aug 27, 2022, 4:22 PM

during the 3rd quarter.

He was amazing in the 1st half and on their first two drives in the 3rd quarter. Then, basic throws became difficult and every pass play became hard to watch.

Turning point might have been the incredibly stupid off-sides kick that NW converted for a quick TD that cut Nebraska's lead back down to 4.

Osbourne will save his ###. I imagine he will "step aside" and take another role in the organization. Frost did so much for Nebraska... Two Natties and a Heisman. Osbourne will protect him.

Edit addition:

Googled Scott Frost and didn't realize he started at Stanford and then transferred to Nebraska. Was on the team for the 1995 Natty, but he was redshirting, so he didn't play. But he brought them the 1997 Natty and did not win the Heisman.

College kids today have never known Nebraska to be relevant

Its been twenty years since they had a season with out at least 4 losses - that spans 5 different head coaches at this point and counting.

My boyfriend is a Nebraska fan, also Clemson, now, he he. He taught landscape architecture there, and just got back from a trip to Lincoln last week. The consensus is that Frost is toast. Probably won't survive the season.
