Never seen a Dabo team out physical-ed like that

Nov 8, 2022, 5:40 PM

We’ve taken some @$$ whippings like coach said and we’ve handed out a few. Most will say how about WVU in the Orange Bowl, LSU, OSU. I remember banner days by Geno Smith(who’s obviously pretty good for anybody paying attention) , joe burrow n chase, and Justin fields(all first round studs btw) But I cant recall getting physically dominated at the line of scrimmage.. and for the record ND is pretty solid at best! Had a CBV defense lined up against that style w that same personnel, ND would have been in 3rd and 8 all night. Plus Dabo teams are normally very buttoned up after a bye week this late! There should be no excuse for D play last week, w the time to prepare, the simplicity of the opponent scheme, and our elite personnel. Offense has a multitude of problems, amplified by poor scheme, personnel, coaching, OL, OC and his QB and their dumbed down playbook, slow @ss 250lb qb that can’t read a b squad defense... so I give them a pass for the 2nd year...but CBV must have really cut nutz bf leaving town.. idk if their is a problem w dabo’s program, but who can argue there is definitely something wrong with this team.. hopefully saving a whipping for coots.. lord we better

Reminded me of when we opened the season playing Bama in GA. It was billed as a great game and it was until kick off, we were steam rolled. Unsure of the coach, maybe Bowden ?

No, that was Dabo. It was 34-10, because of some garbage time points.

I was Bowden and we had high expectations that year. It was the beginning of Bama’s run.

Nope, it was Bowden. He would be fired a few weeks later after losing to wake***

FSU 2013 was way worse than what ND did last week***

And WVU for that matter. But ND was such a methodical butt kicking. It was really hard to watch.

Throw in the windy weather and some rain during the tailgating it made for one miserable trip.

100% correct. Really bothered me to see that. Be competitive even in defeat. We were not.

As bad as the D played; I only blame them for 14 points of the 35 scored.

Saturday night was one stanky turd all around.

That was a Coach Swinney bomb right there as it was all over the place. Hard to hold any of the coordinators too responsible for what was largely a full body dud. Dabo pretty much said as much in the post pressers. Can't disagree there.

I didn't see quit in this one, just couldn't do much of anything anywhere to start, stop, or finish throughout.

Funny - even during our best recent years we were criticized on offense for being a “finesse “ team and not a physical team. We haven’t been a run it down their throats team in a very long time. Think about what Bama did to our offense in the playoff game in New Orleans in 2017.

Notre Dame and Ohio State 2020 beg to differ.***
