it's a new free market and we get to observe the dynamics from 0 -> implosion

for teams in big markets and/or with deep pockets, annually, its great.

For teams in smaller markets its gonna be tough to be elite annually. I think that is bearing out in the early season to season results if you look at the teams that have raked in numbers annually in the transfer game. I can see clemson getting a handful here and there in the future but the ohio states, texas's, bama's, oregon's, southern cals, and florida schools, etc. will constantly be pulling in 5-10 transfers a year, keeping the super performers and spitting out the one's that don't fit (including those currently on the roster.)

So for that I don't like it for Clemson. I think we will fall back a rung similar to where we are now. Unless David Tepper decides to fund our NIL.

100% agree with your assessment.

I'm hoping that it will cycle out. Once donors experience the disaster at AtM that didn't work the money will dry up. Or they'll just adapt the NFL model where teams are bought. But I can see that taking a while.

The teams are already being bought. Some schools have a lot of money.

I mean "dark money" behind them.

it's definitely going to be challenging for Clemson

i have faith though that we have enough real estate and car delearship alumn that we can compete with housing and vehicle awards.

and maybe IPTAY and Paw Impact (or the real name for the NIL collective) can make adjustments to fund football.

the noon games Neff had us signed up for helped a lot with sizing our market and validating it.

fingers crossed 🤞
