71 in a 35 is ridiculous. Should be immediate suspension of license for multiple years.

Why is any of that relevant?

You have to be a special kind of irresponsible to go 71 in a 35. “Not being drunk” doesn’t make it better.

Go 100 on the interstate…wouldn't bother me a bit. That’s a controlled access road with no homes, buildings, pedestrians, or intersections. And, all cars flowing in the same direction.

Much much much more dangerous and life threatening to speed that egregiously when not on the interstate. He needs a hard lesson.

A hard lesson would be to sit out two games, a hefty fine {which will happen),
a defensive driving course that he will pay for,all points but one from his
license and 4 back when he completes his course and community service.

I am glad I was his age before the internet and social media was around.... 71 in a 35 ain't worse than the stuff I did at that age...

Is it bad? yes.... but we have all street raced a little bit here and there. Why is 10 over the speed limit the standard?

Let's let it play out and let Dabo decide the kid's fate.

Both drivers cited. Noble (Honda) for reckless driving. Chevy Truck for failure to yield, and lied about having the green arrow when it was flashing yellow. Noble is lucky, could have killed himself or the other driver/passengers going that fast.

At fault will be for insurance companies and courts to determine. Both drivers were in the wrong, based on the citations issued.

But.....only one driver was arrested.

While NJ was going 71 in a 35, another car driven by an unlicensed driver turned left in front of him at an intersection. The driver who made the illegal turn was charged for failure to yield and driving without a license. NJ was charged with reckless driving.

And you people who think this was the first time he’s done this? It’s not. It’s just maybe the first time he’s been caught.

No excuse for this. And that goes for all of us. I’d be in favor of an extremely severe penalty. Flame away.
