cause the elimination of several of these totally meaningless bowls? We are WAY beyond saturation point. A bowl bid used to be a reward for a good season, now, even losing teams participate in certain situations. Scale it back to around 20 bowls, and maybe a bid will once again spark some interest.

It should. I think the expansion helps minimize the opt outs. Curious to see how financially worth it non playoff bowls are going forward.

Expand the playoffs to 32 and eliminate the bowls.

It should.

Seems like FSU should have declined the bowl game if/when they realized the entire team had quit on them.

I could see the bowl games being for smaller schools that are happy to sometimes make a bowl but seems like it will only get worse for teams that were trying to make the playoffs and didn't.

All the meaningless bowl games need to end.

And what makes anyone think that opt outs wont continue with an expanded playoffs? If players are concerned about injuries before the draft why would they risk playing in up to 4 extra games.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these bowl games disappeared in a few years and the only postseason would be from the top 12 teams
