It does sooooo much to help the football is hard schools which is a contributing factor for the TV contract to be so awful to begin with. History is not going to be kind to ole Swoffie. He will go down as the man who negotiated the ACC into obscurity. It also worked so fabulously for the Big 12.

value of the teams in a conference. It doesn't matter if a team does well or good, their value is in the number of viewers they draw. Clemson and Florida State carry the ACC and there is no way them making the playoffs or even winning it will generate enough revenue to cut into what teams get in the BIG or SEC that don't do jack squat. We need to perform to get a few peanuts. We should tell the ACC to KMA and find seven other schools to dissolve this bullshat conference.

Chrisis is obviously not a Clemson alumni because he or she is saying they have no faith in our leadership. The ACC is not about just 1 sport or most certainly not just 1 school. If schools perform, they have a chance to be rewarded just like every people in any business in the nation.

Why you say that. I’m a Clemson Alumni. Went to first game in tha Valley in 1958 I have no faith in ACC leadership. Previous leadership was just as bad. I have total faith in Clemson Leadership. He didn’t say he had no faith in our leadership just ACC leadership

Actually you you want to criticize those responsible make sure you include the University presidents and AD’s for accepting the GOR. They all had complete knowledge of what they were signing. I am guessing their thoughts were focused more on getting the ACC Network off the ground with ESPN and the anticipated revenue from doing so. Unfortunately for all schools, ACC Network has not performed as expected.

So is the a football based decision or across the board

So if a school is good in football but not baseball or basketball or vice versa good in baseball or basketball but not football, what is this accomplishing?
If it's the latter then it isn't doing anything. It's keeping the money equal among all schools
Sounds to me they polishing a turd until it's shiny but in reality it's still a turd

I guess Dabo has to keep winning and get back to the CFP, Brownell better start getting to Sweet 16s or better and Bakich needs to get to some College World Series.
Win and eat, lose and starve or at least go on diet.
This is not a cure all but it will help until the departure.

Why CLEM staying in the conference for another 13 years is BEYOND UNSUSTAINABLE. Overwhelmingly, the fan base is DONE with this charade.

It will be an irrelevant, second tier league, along with every team in it. This is why it is imperative to find some way to be done with this charade immediately.

As much as I hate government interference; it’s time for government interference.

As a libertarian, I disdain the government interfering in most things. However, in the case of college conference alignment, it’s time. We need anti-trust suits brought against the SEC, BIG10, and ESPN. ESPN has pushed the narrative that there are two conferences and everyone else. Maybe we could split every conference up, and realign based on geographic and traditional rivalries? Maybe we could keep things the same and ensure equal revenue share for every institution. I don’t see the power two working. You’d have 30+ teams per conference. There would have to be divisions and possibly multiple conference championship games to determine a champion. Logistics would be an absolute nightmare.
What do you do with the Clemson Georgia Tech rivalry? Clemson SC rivalry? Notre Dame will probably never join a conference. Why would they?
What about four geographical conferences? Preserve any long-time rivalries. The Northeastern, Southeastern, Northwestern, and southwestern conference. Divide the conferences into equal amounts of teams and share revenue equally?! That makes too much sense and ruins the monopoly. ESPN/ABC/Disney controls the college football landscape. Their hatred of the ACC is evident. Look at how they proclaimed ACC basketball was dead and the SEC and BIG 10 were the cream of the crop. The NCAA tourney showed the ACC teams were tougher than anyone thought. Except those who follow basketball.
Perhaps we break Disney’s stranglehold on college football? Something has to be done. Or college football will become the NFL. I like the NFL. I don’t love it like I do college.

Maybe this will officially kill off the league
May 26, 2023, 6:13 AM
|
|
The gap between haves and have nots will only widen. it might get to a point where the have nots may decide its not financially feasible to continue at all. all the money is going to the haves. then, the league crumbles. but, will it crumble fast enough to give the hanves a place to land and be competitive? can we be competitive in an SEC or B1G after 10 years with a revenue shortfall of 10-20M/year?
