Playing 500 ball has some benefits:
Losing other games will not be as shocking;
Next season could be better;
Watching other teams play while our game is on now seems okay;
Plenty of catchy tee shirt phrases ("USC isn't as good as us")("We're 4&4 y'all")("Wait until next year")...;

AND, this could open up some scholarship spots going forward.
