Washington Redskins - never played for the Commanders. No reason to be politically correct about this.

Redskins is the real name. Snead would have called out that BS.

When I was young, my grandparents lived in an in-law suite on a large property in Yorktown, VA owned by Norm Snead and wife.

Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Sonny Jurgenson, Billy Kilmer and more would stop by to visit Snead, and sometimes they would play catch with me and Norm's kids - a girl about my age and a slightly younger son. I was about 8-9 years old and did not realize they were a big deal at the time. They could not have been nicer.

He was the QB in my first Clemson game in 1959. The Tigers scored with about two or so minutes left to win 33 - 31. The ticket cost ten cents and sat on the home side about the 15 yard line. The next week saw the Tigers take FU at Sirrine in their next to last appearance there 56 - 3. Rest in Peace Norm Snead.
