I don't think they're one of the 4 best teams but I do think they have more value than they're getting from the ACC's poor media contract. They're making 40% of what Rutgers and Northwestern are getting from the B1G TV deal. I think if they can get enough of a loan from the B1G, use TV revenue to cover the loan and stay at their current payout they're better off than living with the ACC deal for another decade. The fly in the ointment isn't the buyout it's the ownership of the TV rights. If the B1G can't profit off their games there's little incentive to add them until the ACC deal expires. By 2036 will the B1G and SEC already have split from the NCAA and created NFL light? Will there be any room left for ACC teams? BTW...all this discussion is exactly what they want. If FSU isn't sincere they're implicit in the NCAA/ACC/ESPN's scheme to keep everyone talking about it.
