Exactly my first thought. Unnecessary and dirty. But he should have just been handing the ball off at that point. Or, better yet, let the number 2 guy be in there. Hindsight is 20-20

I hate that tackle but with all the other rules for a legal tackle, I don't know what defenders are supposed to do.

I see a problem. I have no solution. I'll see myself out.

If they actually want to make FB safe to play, take away all the pads with only a padded skull cap without a face mask. All that equipment that they wear is the reason they try to run through an unsuspecting players from the blind side. Play it kind of like the socker players play it, just a little something to help protect them from severe concussions. I promise players will stop trying to be a human missile bc it will hurt them as much as it will the player they're trying to take out the game!!! Or just allow the QBs to have all that so called protective gear. That would probably help to protect the players better than all those rules that's ruining the game!!!!
