Nothing wrong with playing TWO quarterbacks
Nov 12, 2017, 10:34 AM

Urban myth is that you must have ONE, and only ONE primary QB.
Our situation is unique. While primary QB is very good at running, passing ?, not so much ....
Sooner or later someone is going to shut the run and we will be up chits creek without a paddle
This is where Hunter J. comes into play .... run KB run ! Mix in HJ, HJ does not necessarily throw all the time, rumor on the street is the Lad is respectable runner himself. BUT he CAN throw.
Just mix it up ... keep them then guessing. None of this "tenure" thing. This is not a Gub'ment job where you have "rights" to a job based on time and tenure.

I love how these guys talk without giving any thought to what comes out of there pie holes. Tigers lost 1 game, KB got knocked out of the game. He has played exceptionally well under the circumstances. Trust the coaches who have just won a title. Not every QB is DW4.

People want 400 yards passing and to score 50 points a fame I guess. That is not who we are this year. I like that we run the ball and play D. That is how we are going to win a championship. KB has been solid and when it is crunch time he makes plays.

Had a few very well thrown balls on the drive to go up 24-14. KB just needs some help with better play calling

Yes he had nice throws early on to Renfrow and Greenlee. A few throws to Cain that were dropped. He makes the throws. I think some of the over throws are just because it is covered well. Sometimes he does miss on the out routes but I think he has done pretty dang good and without his running we would not be 9-1.

I just don't get why anybody would think HJ can come in and throw the ball so much better than KB. KB has made big time throws in big games. HJ had a good throw on a play action pass to the TE that was wide open and he is amazing. I hope HJ can throw great but KB has earned and proven he is a good QB both running and throwing.

Pretty much everything is wrong with playing two QBs
Nov 12, 2017, 10:44 AM
|
|
Other than the Tim Tebow situation at Florida, name a team that has achieved a really high level of success playing two QBs on a regular rotational, or even a situational basis.
Clemson going to a two-QB game plan at this stage of the season would reek of desperation that is not at all warranted by reality.
When we actually lose a game that Kelly Bryant starts and finishes, then the discussion may be valid.

I think most people that want 2 QB's are trying to prevent a loss instead of waiting for a loss and we are out of the playoff. Anyway Go Tigers!

given a shot at Syracuse. Clearly he can't and he wasn't. I have no idea what people have seen in the ten minutes of playing time this season against scrubs that leads them to think Hunter Johnson is a gift from god. He threw a nice touchdown pass against Wake Forest. Kelly Bryant can throw those against scrub level as well.

VH - you think Elite 11, Nike, Army AA named HJ best

QB in the nation because they felt sorry for him? Maybe just maybe he has talent, but it takes coaching to mentor and grow that talent. And as we learned with Watson who was rated 16 in the country by recruiting svcs (about identical to HJ), talented freshman can play when coached up.

Good lord you worship that pre college stuff. It’s all you talk about. That stuff means jack chit once they step a foot on a college campus.
Sean white was an elite 11 mvp. Willie Korn excelled in the elite 11. DW4 didn’t come close to winning the elite 11. That tells you everything you need to know about that crap. It means absolutely zilch.

I don't agree with the 2 qb system, but I don't have a problem with the coach sending KB a message by yanking him if he's not playing well. I'm not looking for a new starter, but I wouldn't mind the message being sent "it's November/orange ####### season, the qb play needs to be better than it is"

You're ASSuming that the other QB is ready
Nov 12, 2017, 11:56 AM

Have you been to practice ? Do you have some secret knowledge ? Before you answer, think about it, because this staff has a history of playing guys that they think are ready. DW4 played the third series of his career ,took over the position by the third series of the 3rd game.if Hunter was ready, he'd be playing.
As I said in another thread, I think it'll be hard for KB2 or even TL to keep HJ from taking the job this spring.
You QB knowitalls, did you see what UGA's true freshman QB looked like against Auburn yesterday ?

All I’m saying is throw HJ in there every so often to mix it up. KB running on any given play is predictable. Perhaps our secret weapon wonder weapon in the playoffs ?

Many of us said for a long time Feaster and ETN should be the running backs. It took the coaches awhile to agree.
