I keep up with ND Football 0% of the time. Only thing I know is Sam Hartman is there this year. We knew before the WF game last year that he may would probably have a good game, but we couldn’t even stop him until the last quarter.
I don’t think ND ever really has the receivers to get to that level, but their backs are usually very good. Don’t think we’ll lose because we essentially have a different team. But with how we lost to ND and how Hartman played against us, it may be very tough.

I think part of our issue was young corners needing more experience.

Don't forget we were without Andrew Mukuba, Sheridan Jones, and Malcolm Greene against Wake. True freshmen Toriano Pride and Jeadyn Lucas were thrown into the fire just 4 games into the season. Nate Wiggins wasn't the same player in September that he was at the end of the season. Fred Davis was no help. Also 120 penalty yards didn't help our cause either.

I don’t think our DBs made a lick of difference in that game. They just plain dominated the trenches and ran the ball all over us. I don’t really remember our corners being the MAIN issue that game. It was Breese and those inside guys on both sides. And oh yeah you always must consider DJ’s performance. Had one of his worst games. And that’s saying something.

Your OP states you're concerned about playing against him because we didn't stop him until the 4th quarter and how he played against us. Our secondary played horrible that game and Wake only averaged 2.8 yards per carry on the ground. I'm starting to wonder about you.

Maybe they are trying to say if you combine the 263 rushing yards ND had with the 337 passing yards WF had - it would be a bad day at the office for our Tigers.

My apology, thought you were talking about ND game. But yes you’re correct about the Wake game.

The thing to remember about Notre Dame is they have huge offensive linemen who just dominated the line of scrimmage against us last year. Unless our front 7 do a better a better job, Notre Dame will try to run the ball like they did last year and that is when Hartman steps up and throws the ball. The game will be an old fashioned knock down drag out game just the game with FSU and our "D" has to be better.

It's their Tight Ends and RBs I worry about...

They always have dangerous TE's and disguise them well before they release and are wide open. They also do a great job of run blocking which makes decent RBs look great.
