They won't join the ACC, so I hope they stay independent.

They have no reason to join a conference if they command

that much... but if Clemson doesn't get off their ### and demand changes to the ACC (unlikely) they better run to another conference

What is the ACC not doing that you think they should be doing?

If you don't like the hoops team, don't watch or don't support.

Okay, which "legit football powers" do you want the ACC

to approach?
What will the pitch be for why they should leave their current conference and join the ACC?
And how will these additions help Clemson? In other words, how much do you think these additions would add to the current ACC TV deal?

It is too late, there is no one left and the ACC is going to rot on the vine... best thing for Clemson is to get in to Big 10 or SEC... period

Notre Dame and NBC have had that deal for a long time. What's going to hurt them is if they don't join a conference and they start to suffer on the Major D1 games. It would really hurt them if, say the real USC backs out of their annual rivalry with them. That would hurt both ND and NBC.

They have five games against ACC programs scheduled through 2037. If they continue to play Navy, Southern Cal, and Stanford every year, that only leaves them four slots to fill.
As long as conferences continue to play any non-con games, they should be able to fill their schedule. https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/notre-dame/

ACC had ND by the golden nads
Jul 19, 2022, 11:39 AM

During Covid and “saved” them by serving up a full schedule for the season. All it would take is group effort to blackball them into submission by refusing to play them. Sure, ND would sue, but the lawyers would drag it out to the point where the season was over.

The ND envy all over this board is dopey

Yeah, and that is why ACC schools made record revenues that season. Because all the money was pooled and split between the fifteen teams and because Clemson and Notre Dame both made the playoff.
I don't get why so many are willfully clueless about how the ACC benefits from its unique relationship with ND. They are the biggest brand in college athletics.

They won't get that money. You can't blame them for trying.

But once they find out they can't get that money then they will join a conference.
