balanced budget will be happy for the next year or two. Trump will have to break some eggs if he doesn't break his promises. It will take a while for the tax cuts to positively affect government income. You can do just so many program cuts without running up more deficit.

It's a good thing he has four years to work and a veto to go with them.

People who think tax cuts for wealthy americans increase tax receipts are ignorant as well.

We know these things from the study of empirical data, but some continue to cling to these falsehoods for political reasons, not for factual reasons.

He did inherit a $1.4 trillion deficit and it did fall 7 of the 8 years he was in office. Hopefully Trump continues that trend and we should be break even by the end of his term assuming the economy holds up.

That's a false statement. While Bushs last fiscal year did run a huge deficit, Obamas $787 billion stimulus was added to that number. I like how a bill passed and signed in to law by Obama after Bush left and the deficit it added to is somehow part of what Obama "inherited "
