Easy to say it but I want to see it in action. After his first season I was hoping Wes would silence my doubts but he’ll only added fire.
Let’s go boys!

Yep. Him saying Be violent reminds me of Barney the dinosaur saying to be violent.

That's all well and good, but being smart and knowing your roll each play is just as important....especially in the secondary.

Me too! Get that fixed, and we all will be amazed at how much better this team will be.

Would that prevent 50 yard TDs on 4th and 1?***

what WG is saying here.
This was my only fear with him taking over after BV. BV was so passionate, relentless and on edge all the time. He played that way. He coached that way. And his players knew that was the expectation.
I never saw that in Goodwin, so I was hoping others on staff on and the team would step in and fill that role the best they could.
Honestly, you need a Ben Boulware kinda guy on staff to inject that kinda same energy.

Pulling hard for him as Tiger DC but the drop off from BV is large. Has Wes ever put on a football uniform? Love some Peter Woods.

I think he played some in high school. I hope he grows into it. Honestly i get 2nd hand embarrassment watching his interviews, his words don't exactly inspire confidence when you hear him.

I am really pulling for WG. I don't doubt he may be very knowledgeable but when I watch him speak nothing says D1 DC. He lacks presence, personality and confidence. These traits are what made BV a great recruiter in addition to his knowledge and experience at playing the position. I hope WG throws a chair or punches a whole in a wall ( just kidding), do something to instill a fire and sense of tenacity in the defense this season.

Pretty sure Wes knows his seat could get hot real quick if our defense doesn't show considerable improvement.

I just don't want to see continued busts in the secondary and linebackers filling the wrong gaps.
Fix that and we should be ok.

WHAT HAS BEEN MISSING IS VIOLENCE AT THE POINT OF ATTACK! GET AFTER THE QB, RB, TE, AND WRs.... GET OFF THE BLOCK FROM THE OFFENSIVE LINE AND PUT PADS ON PEOPLE. PLAY ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL AND PLAY ON THE BALL.
GO TIGERS!

Just let the war daddies disrupt. Last year the DL was not penetrating the OL and it looked like by design. The old school style of play was for the DL to keep bodies off the linebackers. This is an Era where disruption is king, let the war daddies eat.

Gonna be difficult to get the players to have a "Freaking Violent" attitude when you been putting the corners 20 yards deep on third and 15. Does not compute! If you want them to be violent, you must make aggressive calls and play smash mouth defense, not this passive flag football crapola we saw at times last season!!

We are losing two, maybe three first round picks off the defense but I believe we will be leaps and bounds better. Fast and violent and greedy for the ball. Tyler Davis may only need to play 40% of the snaps this year (PWoo, Ruke, Page and Tre) and and we should be much deeper at safety. LBs are a given group of bad a**es so that leaves it up to the corners to let the guys up front get home.
