Coaching carousel after this weekend.

Here are the things I am looking for.
If OU loses to OK ST, then one of two things happens with Lincoln Riley. 1. He will be named LSU HC on Sunday or Monday. 2. He's not going to LSU. He will either stay at OU, or he is waiting for an NFL job. (I'll be interested to see if Matt Nagy is fired. If he is and Riley doesn't go to LSU, then I can see him getting the Bears job.)
If Billy Napier loses, then one of two things will happen. 1. He'll be named HC at LSU on Sunday or Monday. 2. He'll be named HC at Florida on Sunday or Monday. I can't see him turning down either job. All indications are he is the leading candidate for Florida but would prefer the LSU job.
But, here is the caveat. What if Riley goes to LSU and Florida hires Lane Kiffin (which is what I predicted Florida would do a week ago.) Did Napier just miss out on 2 of the top ten coaching jobs in America?
And, really crazy scenario which I just thought up as I was typing this post. 1. Riley to LSU 2. Napier to Florida 3. Kiffin to Oklahoma (Or reverse Napier and Kiffin.)
At any rate, Sunday and Monday could be big days on the carousel.

I’ve listened to a few things this week that tell me Lincoln isn’t going anywhere, especially to LSU. He understands and appreciates how special that OU job is and that he probably didn’t deserve it when he got it and is very loyal to OU. He may get a raise at OU but he isn’t going anywhere, LSU has way to unrealistic expectations and is not a 20-30 year job like he has at a blue blood like OU, they have plenty of money to match whatever offers he gets.

I think you are right about LSU. I'm not so sure he isn't waiting on an NFL job. (That's why I'm looking at Matt Nagy.)

Word is Napier is Florida bound. Riley I doubt will leave OU for another college gig. If he does leave it will be for the NFL.
Biggest fear tho is Venables leaving. Anyone that replaces him will definitely be a few steps down.

Yep, general consensus is Napier to Gators. Scott Stricklin hasn't called me, so I can't present my case that Kiffin is the more logical choice.??

wants to be a head coach, and that includes Florida. Florida has fumbled with their last several hires.

I wasn't saying Venables to Florida just losing Venables to one of the open jobs. Hope you are right that Venables doesn't want to be a head coach.

Florida 247 board is allegedly stating that Napier is expected to be named HC either Sunday or Monday.
It's behind a paywall so I can't read the story, but some guy on LSU board reported it.

After reading this, I have one very important question, and it is, will anybody want Tony Elliott, and if so, who could Dabo get to come in and run a high powered offense for us at Clemson. We will be talented, and primed for an OC to make a big splash at Clemson....

Dabo ain’t going outside the program, he’s promised Streeter the OC spot when TE leaves for 3 years now to keep him from taking other jobs.

I think that’s a really bad idea.

But I’m not the one who gets paid $8 million a year to make those decisions.

Did anyone say anything about Kiffin to Miami?
